Any other interesting and valuable advice u have to offer "o great one"

As always the meat of the matter is forgotten and a trivial matter such as
language which serves as a sole purpose of communication and nothing else is
    taken to the forefront...

Thank you very much Duh!(pun intended)

Some years ago, this newsgroup was mostly about sportbikes and
generally the riders were thoughtful and helpful. Now this NG is
primarily the cruising crowd and as you can tell, they sometimes lack
    social skills.

Nevertheless, there are still some riders who monitor this NG from the
Waco, Austin, & College Station areas, but they seldom post here
anymore (including myself). Perhaps some of those riders will
recognized your email address and be able to send you note.

In addition, if you check with the some of the bike shops in the
College Station area, they'll be more than pleased to tell you about
organized rides that originate from their shops or from within the
    area.

    Good luck Amigo!

Sure is nice that you had the "grace" not to get real specific.. You must be
a genuine "old" hand in this newsgroup.. I don't seem to recall the group
being dominated by one or the other of the biker groups.. Be that as it may,
I doubt that one group lacks or possesses more or less "social skills" as
    the other..
Lurkers are a given, on any newsgroup.. Contributors are always helpful., as
    well..

Do you suppose he might have been exercising his "social skills"... Damn...
Waco.. you and I need to take dead aim on that stuff and "improve"
ourselves.. LOL.. missed you yesterday.. You gonna hafta co-ordinate
maintainance and repair on that Springer, so that it doesn' t interfere when
Fullstate and me decide to run a bit...

We went yesterday.. son.. Damn.. keep up.. Just me and him.. Your Springer
was in the shop being Gucci'd and I don't know where the hell everybody else
was... Jeez.. we had a good time, in spite of the weather and lack of bikes
    on the road..
We all need to gather for the big show.. Let's do that and intimidate the
whole bunch when we pull up... OK..

  10. ya know, if someone doesn't post, they lose by abdication.
i hardly qualify as part of the cruising crowd (and don't see any worse
characteristics there than with the squid crowd), my social skills are
reasonable and i think my posts are generally thoughtful, respectful,
helpful and occassionally humorous. this is hardly a homogeneous group
of people except for the fact most ride motorcycles. to expect other
than that is ignorance of usenet group or even general human norms. if
you want to see a real circus, check out reeky any day of the week.
that trainwreck makes this place look like a kindergarten class compared
to the non-stop bashing and trolling that goes on over there.

the very first paragraph of your post is a bash on the people who
actually take time to post here, then you go on to proclaim your lack of
participation while bemoaning things as they seem to you. perhaps you
can see the disconnect in your thought process and go on to participate
more and contribute constructively in here more often. please do. i see
a pretty diverse group of riders here on all sorts of machinery, hardly
dominated by any one group or style.

as for the rider in College Station looking for something to do, most
shops have flyers about groups and events as well as ragsheets that talk
about current happenings around the state. there are likely riders
groups within the A&M campus too. hit a shop that services the marque
you ride and see if there are riders groups for that. just poke around
a bit and you will find stuff to do. just riding around solo will find
    you things to do too.

looking out the window right now, there's more rain is coming. this was
the weekend i was tentively planning on going to arkansas, but that was
a washout. i don't mind riding in rain, but to spend a whole weekend in
it isn't the pinnacle of fun.

expertise in the fine art of motorcycle handling is superb and intimidating
to many... LOL... Come on out, next time.. we'll show you how to "whiteline"
    or some other damfoolery...

Yeah! You know, I am not afraid to take my bike somewhere. And I am
almost ALWAYS the oddball, even amongst sportbikes. ;-) We all
ride, we may ride different machines, and we made ride differently,
and we may ride for different reasons.

I liked some of the other posts I read. Seems that this guy's
comments were quite unwelcome here. I have to agree with just about
    everything I read from everyone.

There are plenty of people on here with all different kinds of
machines. And if you don't want to post, that is fine, you don't have
to....but if you want to, then by all means join in the conversation.
it is NOT a private party.

  14. if i was gonna go to dallas, i'd just go the couple more hours to
arkansas as originally planned. i can ride in a city any damn day. was
supposed to have left last thursday but bidness and weather forecasts
weren't on my side at all and it's just as well, got a couple of
pressing problems finally resolved on friday. if i could figure out a
way to make moolah by riding.....

tell ya what, you got lots of time to start planning now, can i see you
in the Waltz Across Texas Rally next April? don't have to answer me
now, just consider it. benefits Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and
attracts some of the best distance riders from across n. america and
    europe.

    Krishnan,

Have you tried the A&M Motorcycle club? They meet at the Sonic on Harvey
around 8:30pm on Thursdays. I went on a few rides with them, including one
with a group of sportbikers nice enough to let my slow cruiser tag along.
The group has changed quite a bit recently, but it seems to have changed for
the better. More leathers, less flip flops. They used to meet on Sunday
morning for serious rides, but I don't know if they still do that or not.
There's also a group that leaves from Russ Welch Harley on Wednesdays around
6:30, but I don't know how open they are on to non-harleys.

    Good luck!

How about those social skills from Casey! Decent boys and girls ...
decent. Much more helpful than some off-the-wall comments about use
of the grammer when all a dude wanted was to find a few riding
    partners.

From Deep in the Heart of Texas ... take care.
