Blimey, anything else? It's getting a bit boring down here.

I had him binned for ages then took him out because I couldn't
remember why. Getting old has it's downside.

    Hello

Seem to have started a bit of a conversation here. Good to see so many
    helpful people out there.
Thought I'd update you on progress today. I've been out all day on that
screaming 125. As you all suggested, before the junction I dropped a gear,
let the clutch out and if I was to fast, dropped one again. As the day wore
on and I got colder and wetter, it all started to come together and
eventually got to the stage of opening the throttle a little bit and
slipping the clutch. I feel more confident about it now. Just have to get
those U-Turns mastered. Away to soak in a hot bath to thaw out.

Thanks again for all your help

Do be careful, it will be quite some time before the rise in your
abilities catches up with the rise in your confidence.

On the bright side, the next few months will be among the most exciting
part of your time on a bike.

Empty car park, 20 minutes. As easy as that.

She might get worried that you'll abuse her pristine 9R. You don't
appreciate how much care she lavishes on that bike.
