actually, I'm fibbing - it's pretty much the same spec as the one
you're suggesting (it was the 37" Hannspree I bought earlier this year
    that has the higher spec.)

Walk into your nearest Richer Sounds. They will make you happy.

You will need self discipline however.....

I bought one last week, £400. Sanyo 26" flat screen (CE26LD33-B).
Bought from a local dealer, probably cheaper from the big chains.
Nice sharp picture, freeview built in, good sound, idiot proof set-up.
Screen big enough, but doesnt dominate the room(which I hate).
    Well pleased with it.

I think that was the DVD player tbh - I had one of them.

Thanks for making me feel old, btw.

Doubt the old "wiggling the riser card" trick would work this time, then...

As darsy mentioned, not a bad innings really - according to its new owner, my
    old one died only recently

....but I doubt if they'll make my bank account happy.

I bought the cheapy from ebuyer, £290 for delivery tomorrow seemed ok to
    me.

I'll be doing just that next time I'm home. These robbing Belgian
bastards seem to be charging in the region of 20-30% more for the same
    tellies.

Best make sure you buy one which will accept British and European PAL,
else you might find yourself without sound

Who the **** watches analogue TV these days?

  14. Being affected by that sort of thing, I've been careful to check the
tuners of tellies / DVD recorders I like the look of and it seems that
many if not most have a European (or world) tuner these days. Same goes
for TV cards for the past several years. Mind you, that's analogue - I'm
not sure of Continong standards for terrestrial digital.

DVB-T, just like the UK as far as I can tell. Mostly we're watching
satellite stuff anyway as we still have the Sky subscription.

As a slight topic drift, does ITV HD ever actually show anything? All
I've ever seen is the banner saying that it's unavailable.

  18. I don't know yet - I have to upgrade the software for the satcard to get
it, but I'll be giving it a go shortly.

shit as in you didn't like it or shit as in it didn't work properly
(this is more common than ideal with ebuyer).
