I gave up trying to play, feckin' useless. I could manage 'come as you
are' by Nirvana & that was it.

They do make very nice ornaments though, even if you can't play 'em
    like me..

  4. Nice:) Let's see pics when you get it.

I'm toying with selling my 1999 Les Paul Standard. It's honeyburst and I've
owned it since new. Apart from a few minor dings and some very minor buckle
rash, it's in mint condish. Reason for selling is my Washburn WI66 has
become my everyday guitar whilst my LP is shut away in its case for months
at a time. I'm also thinking of flogging my toy heli if yer interested
(hasn't flown for 7 months as I've totally lost interest in flying models!)

I have decided that if I go ahead with the above, I'd use the dough to get
another bike just for fannying around on. I want to learn to do basic
stunts (particularly slow, back brake controlled wheelies) so I'd be falling
off quite a bit I imagine. I was thinking along the lines of an oldish CBR6
with no plastics, straight bars, crash bars & a big ****-off rear
    sprocket...

I can't imagine a Washburn taking the place of a Gibson myself, but to each
his own. On the heli front, I've just flogged a Rap 50 with everything
including support shite coz it was geting in the way. I've got a couple more
I'm getting rid of too, so buying one wouldn't be a smart move:)
I could do with some crash bars. I dropped the fucking Zed off it's side
stand today. Clutch lever fucked and the "what would've been the points
cover if it had points" cover is scraped to death. Fucker, considering I
only painted it the other week.

The wife says "I feel safe enough when we're moving, but I crap myself when
    we stop" :)

Mind you, she was the one tarmac surfing with her head, not me. I was just
    stood there watching it fall.

  7. Kev, I hear what you're saying re Gibson v Washburn. Read the reviews of
this specific guitar (WI66 pro) on Harmony Central (as well as every other
review you can find on Google), try one then I bet you will buy one. It is
a fucking top guitar, *better* than the Les Paul in many ways. Oh, and it
was only £400 - a true bargain. No, seriously. So anyway, how much did you
get for the Raptor? Mine's a blinged-out-to-the-hilt V2 with OS Hyper,
Hatori JK 3d pipe, 9252s, GY401/S9254, JR PCM RX, etc. A piroflipping dream
    machine ;-)
Oooh, fek - you clumsy ****.
Sorry, I don't know how to respond to that without being insulting. I guess
    clumsy **** it is then!
Hmmm, so you were off the bike and your missus was still perched on the
pillion whilst you watched the whole shebbang fall over? LOL, man sorry for
laughing but how did this happen? I hope she's ok dude.

    God bless ya.

Well it's a leccy, so it's not really my thing. I've *got* leccies, but I'm
an acoustic player at heart and the J-45 is the perfect compliment to my
J-200, which I've had since the mid 60's.

    It is
    I know what you mean.

So anyway, how much did you
Not totally blinged, but it had the upgraded swash and grips, plus the
flybar carrier. Pretty cheap servo's but a decent HH and a 9253. 10 chan
SPCM Rx with the 3810Tx and the TT support box with battery, fuel
bottle/pump, glo-stick, starter/extension and all the chargers. OS 50 and
Hatori. It all went for 500 squids, but I honestly don't ever see it being
used. Shame really, coz it was a good price with no tat and it flew superbly
and now it's going to it under someones bench for the rest of its life.

Yeah, I was *really* fucking chuffed. The thing was making some odd noises
on the way home too so I investigated this morning and it turns out it'd
ejected a nut off the number 3 exhaust manifold. A new one was installed and
it's back to sounding like it should again, so me and the tarmac surfer are
out again (I *was* going to say "off" again, but that's just too much of a
feed line) in an hour or so.
I need insulting for throwing the **** down the road. I felt fucking awful,
but she wasn't particularly bothered, considering it's the first time she's
face planted. Fortunately (for me) no damage to her.
Yeah, I'd just stoppped to have a natter with a guy on a Buel Firebolt and I
went for the side stand but didn't get it far enough down, so the fucker
flicked back up. By this time, I was committed to putting my foot down coz I
KNEW the thing was going over, but she had no idea. I stepped off and she
    stayed on. Momentarily:)

    LOL, man sorry for
She's fine. If she'd not been, I wouldn't be typing this coz my fingers
    would still be in plaster:)
Aye I think he has :)

  15. I started on 'leccies in 1981 and have had a Washburn G10v since '84 -
another bloody good Washburn which still plays superbly to this day. My
only acoustic is (you guessed it) a Washburn EA30 electro-acoustic in
    translucent blue.

You gave it away man. Never mind, cash in your pocket is better than a
depreciating toy under your bench right?
    Don't tempt fate!
    That's the bike right? :)
Fortunately, in all the miles I did with the wife on board, I never face
planted her. I don't think she'd have got back on if I had. Kudos to your
    missus.
:) What was the bloke on the Firebolt like at supressing his laughter? It
must have been painfully imbarrassing for you.

Lucky for me, I no longer carry a pillion. My missus and I used to do 1000s
of miles together in the good ol' days on a '87 VFR but now we have kids,
she'd rather not risk leaving a couple of orphans. The R1 is not suited to
passenger carrying anyway and TBH, all that extra weight on the back,
carried so high would **** up the handling big time!
Then you'd be playing bottleneck blues on your new J45 for a while!

    Indeedy. Ride (and stop!) safe.

I've dipped into leccy guitars occasionally and I've got a Telecaster now,
but to be honest, it doesn't get the use it should.
Yeah, I know, but it went to a friend of a friend and I picked it up for
next to bugger all in real money. In fact NO money, coz I did a bit of
painting on a bloke's bike and he dropped the lot in my lap and asked if it
    was sufficient payment. It was.

Never mind, cash in your pocket is better than a
And cluttering the place up even more than it already is. I've got a VR46
with a JR 388s and OS motor/Hatoi pipe going begging too, but I've not
    decided a price yet.
I didn't. I went out on my own for an hour. Just got back in fact. No probs
with the bike apart from it having a short clutch lever.
Bike? THAT didn't get thrown, that got laid:)
I don't know what her reaction would've been if we'd been moving at the
time, but I have faith in her and she knows and accepts the risks.
He was off his bike and picking mine up before I'd turned round to see the
damage. Then another two bikes and one car stopped to see if we were Ok.
    THAT was embarrassing.
My kid hates the fact that she rides with me, but it's her choice and he
doesn't live with us anymore, being marrried and sprogged up himself.

The R1 is not suited to
We've tried an R1 and the missus doesn't care for being "isolated" as she
    put it.
National resonator for that, not that I've got one, but I may be using the
J-200 with a string lifter at the nut.
Stopping is a bigger problem for her than me at the moment:)
