New Z1000 owners out here?

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Jason Burton-Woods, Oct 20, 2004.

  1. Anyone bought one of the new Z's yet? 750 or 1000 ??? I'm keen but i'm
interested to know from anyone who's bought one if there are any tweaks or
problems with it... things I should know before buying... do you like it
    etc etc??

I'll hit the fanatical Z owners forums now, but locals to this newsgroup
are more trustworthy for opinions (when compared to some of those fanatics
    overseas)

    Thanks

  2. I didn't buy one, 'cause it's just not a real Zed.

It's not heavy, it doesn't handle poorly, and it doesn't have the same
    massive road presence.

Can you really see them doing a remake of Stone with the new Z1000?

Be honest, you didn't get one because it's not a cheap, shitty, 10 year
    old bike.

generally good review, **** off those horrid pipes, a zx9r 4 into system
    fits just fine

at least 2 pommmy review bikes tho have muched their motors due to using
    excessive oil

  7. Well, that too.

(A real Zed is at least 20 years old now though.)

  8. Stone was basically one big Kawasaki Zed commercial.

I dunno about the docco, but certainly everything on the DVD of stone is all
    about the Zeds.

In the original movie, it was the Zed's, but in the last commemorative
    ride, you are pefectly correct.

There were a bunch (12?) BMW C1200 cruisers, custom painted, for the
    leaders off.

While not particularly to my taste, some of the trick paint was very nice.

I _think_ there is still one of the cruisers floating about at Procycles...
