    What were they thinking ?

    2005 ZZr is just a 2001 ZX 6R !
But it keeps the 599cc motor not the 636cc FI motor
Seat height 820 not 780 for us short arses
A ZZR is a sports tourer not a 3 year old sports bike .

Yeah that is a bit odd.

Guess it's not a huge gamble and they could quite easily change their
mind on it in a year or 2.

I would have imagined the Z750 would be the replacement for that class.

Yah, but "sports tourer" is, by definition, a 3 year old
    sports bike. What's your issue?!

Oi, it's perfect. Now we can all own the best of the 600's before they went
ultra racey. Shut up and just buy one.

Actually I think its a good idea, I loved the old ZX6, and it was always
(until recently) a pretty practical beastie

Wonder what numbers the current ZZR600 has been selling in?. probably
started slowing down I guess. Admittedly the newey does look at lot
more bum up than the previous design.

Any thoughts on what this change will do for old ZZR resales? The same
basic older design has been around for about 12 years.

    /www.motorcycledaily.com./ www.mcn.com.
    height is important
plus in your mid forties a not too radical seating position is also
    appreciated .

    from http://www.motorcycle.com/mo/mckaw/04_05_Line-up/

"The ZZR600's ergonomics make long-distance rides a pleasure: The stepped
seat is flat to enhance operator and passenger comfort, and the bars are an
easy reach. Plus, the wide mirrors provide the operator with an exceptional
    view."

wait to it comes out and ride it

I could be wrong but the bars seem a inch or 2 higher and farther back on
    the new zzr600

Looks like the idea is to ditch the 600 sport tourer all together. Most of
the things I like about the ZZ-R are gone , low seat height, centre stand,
nicely integrated blinkers, symetrical looks from the front or back and the
    fuel gauge.

Looks like the idea is to ditch the 600 sport tourer all together. Most of
I had a look at the 2 photos of the old zx-6r and the new zzr600 Aside
from the engine, I cant see a single difference. How comfortable for
touring is the old ZX6R?. Maybe they think that the sport tourer
market is pointless now so they have a sports ZZR and a super sports
    ZX models.

the newey it looks a lot higher seat/lower grips than the old ZZR600.
the indicators also look tacky and added on compared to the current
    ZZR.

what happened recently to the ZX 6R that made it less practical ? (I'm
not really up to scratch on sports bikes)

The old ZX6R, new ZZR600 are great touring steeds. They are both comfortable
in the saddle yet sport enough to do plenty of blazing up your favourite
piece of road. I think it's a great idea, and there should be a reasonably
amount of people buying them. You might find they have changed the ergos
slightly, say higher hangers, lower pegs or something to make it even more
    tour oriented.
