Need to swap the plugs in the R1, are these any good, £5 each seems quite reasonable if they are. Ta -- Nige, Land Rover 90 Yamaha R1 Range Rover Vogue
FWIW, when the NGK Iridiums came out years ago (yes, they are gay) they were the onlly thing my EVO Lancer could run without munching them in 3000km - ie standard plugs would not last 1 service period on the car. The iridium would last two service periods. Unfortunately back then they were $40 each. But it was the only way to stop the car coughing and spluttering. I haven't had need to run them on a bike, or I haven't had need to _ask_ for them to be run on my bike (I just put it in for service and if something is wrong, take it back and get them to fix it - maybe I was running iridium plugs, dunno). But that experience with the Lancer sticks in my mind, so it's not all sales-pitch. At least over the life of the car while I had it, the price of things dropped quite draamatically. Kev
My 06 Honda CBR600RR had iridium plugs (don't know if they where NGK) and at the 16K service (the one were the valve clearances are checked) the main dealer said they didn't need to be replaced. Which surprised me.
As the Iridium plugs are cheaper than the standard ones for the Bandit from sparkplugs.co.uk, I've been using them since the 12,000 mile service. Got 24,000 miles from the first set and replaced them only because I thought I needed to. I'll replace these at the 60,000 mile service in a month or two. So, cheaper, last as well if not longer. Ummm, no real downsides then.
