it seems someone is having a holiday at the expense of RBS/Tesco credit
card & Hyatt by impersonating me

$50 on Broadway tickets, transaction accepted
$380 NY Hyatt, transaction suspended whilst RBS phoned me at home

I think RBS will take the hit on the Broadway tickets and the Hyatt will
take the hit on theirs as they did not get proper authorisation, suggesting
    collusion.

Fucking third world countries with their outdated technology...

It amazes me how easy it is to use stolen/cloned card details.
When the spate of burglaries took place in our area, a debit card was
taken, and used at a local bank branch. The staff gave the thief £300.
The card was also used for online purchases to 3 addresses. Luckily,
they were caught eventually, as they were recorded on CCTV, but even so,
it makes a mockery that a youth can use the card of a Mrs. Jackson, and
get cash out over the counter.
Over on uk.legal today there is a thread running about an Amazon seller,
who is taking orders from people, then ordering the goods from other
retailers using stolen cards. John Lewis were one of the shops sending
stuff out to the buyers who had unwittingly used a stolen card to buy
    the goods.

it doesn't surprise me when you have useless cunts like Santander in charge
    of banks.

Funny you should say that, the stolen card down the road from me was
Alliance & Leicester. Same Company now isnt it?

    unfortunately

I was happy with my National Girobank a/c. Then it went Girobank plc.
    Then A&L. Now Santander.

Service levels have degraded on each takeover. The latest migration to
Santander has been a catalogue of ****-ups. I'll be off once I finish my
    MA and get a salary.

    Bless you.

For some reason, their Smile sub-division turned me down when I worked for
Xerox. Perhaps when I become an agent of the state they will accpet me.

First Direct is the other option, often touted here as good.

And would you believe it, I've just had a call from my bank at 15:00hrs
today, to ask if I've just bought a new O2 mobile phone.
Errr, no, apart from having a half in the pub at dinner, I havent left
the house or spent anything today.
So that'll be my card cut up, with a new one off to me within 5 days.
I'm glad I took out that £200 yesterday, as I wont be getting any more
    cash this week.
