    Just in case you're tempted to have a run out in north Wales be advised
    that they've got the two 45,000 GBP Pan Europeans (price quoted in the
    local press) all set up and configured for Arrive Alive duties.

    I'm still puzzled by the figures though, in one paragraph they state
    that

    "In 2003 the number of fatalities on roads targeted by Arrive Alive
    decreased by 48% and the number of serious injuries recorded was cut by
    37%. "

    Yet part of the reason they're increasing things is cos

    "By November 2003, 18 bikers had died on north Wales' roads, the highest
    annual total ever for the police force area."

    Whre it was I think 13 popped themselves the year before ..

    Statistics are like bikinis ... yadda yadda

    implication is that this figure is for all fatalities regardless of
    whether the corpse is an ex pedestrian, biker etc
    Therefore biker deaths are bucking the trend i.e. increasing in the
    otherwise shrinking category of human road kill
    you just need to interpret them properly.

    However, whether these reductions are due to the Arrive Alive campaign
    or to other factors like car airbags we'll probably never know. As long
    as the coucillors can justify the revenue stream they will use it.

    FREE GIGABYTE! Gigabyte was arrested in her home town of Mechelen,
    Belgium on February 14, 2004. Her government will probably make an
    example out of her because of what she does. She's a VXer, a "coder".
    For the lay person, she codes (writes) virii. That doesn't make her an
    evil person. She's never released any of her projects into the wild. In
    fact, there've been numerous times that she's submitted her virii to
    several different AV (Anti-Virus) firms including, but not limited to
    Symantec.. The makers of Norton Anti Virus. Since her arrest she's had
    her computers confiscated pending the outcome of the investigation as
    well as her web site being taken down

    And saw what I never had seen;
    A Chapel was built in the midst,
    Where I used to play on the green.

    And the gates of this Chapel were shut
    And "Thou shalt not," writ over the door;
    So I turned to the Garden of Love
    That so many sweet flowers bore.

    And I saw it was filled with graves,
    And tombstones where flowers should be;
    And priests in black gowns were walking their rounds,
    And binding with briars my joys and desires."
