    Did 130 miles this afternoon...

    Didcot -> A34 -> A40 -> B4027 [1] -> A44 -> A3400 -> B4035 [2] -> A44 [3] ->
    A424 [4] -> A361 -> A417 [5]-> Didcot.

    [1] On Champ's recommendation - certainly an interesting road and definitely
    in two distinct halves - one fast, open and sweeping, the other much
    narrower with overhanging bits, hills and some interesting bends.

    [2] I obviously went the wrong way the last time I tried this - it's loads
    of fun going West rather then East.

    [3] called 'Broadway' on the map - I've never done it before. It's three
    lanes. Get the usual assortment of signs... "SHARP BEND - 30mph" 'I'll
    ignore that', "BEND SHARPENS SLOW DOWN" 'yeah yeah ye... *parp*' - most
    entertaining, but mainly because I was not so quietly reminding myself to
    not shut my eyes. Lord only knows what it's like going downhill.

    [4] Lovely road.

    [5] I almost threw it down the road on the A417 after having misjudged a
    tightening righthand bend and barrelled into it rather too fast :) I'm sure
    I had loads of room on the left, but it looked about a foot from where I
    was...

    130 miles, two petrol stops and an average speed of 46mph. Must try harder
    :)

    <2nd post to a thread cough>

    Well, that was interesting. Went out, rode a mile and caught up with a
    bike. It looked like an XJR, but only had one exhaust so I decided to
    follow for a bit to see what it was. At the next lights I caught up and
    found out it was an old mate from high school/college that I'd not seen
    for about 5 years.

    Went out for a bimble, had a moment each[1][2], stop for a cuppa and a
    chat. That's about it as this is boring even me now.

    [1] Heading up to a traffic light controlled single lane canal bridge.
    Lights are green, mate goes up to the bridge and just before he goes
    onto the bridge a boy-racer escort comes over in mid-air.
    [2] Turning right at a t-junction I got a bit of a slide on. I first
    thought it was going to be a lowside, then a highside, but then it
    sorted itself smoothly and I felt quite mischievous.

    Sounds like Fish Hill (apart from the 3 lanes bit).

  7. Yup. With double solids between. I have been known to disregard these.
    I'm such a rebel.
