    Just been NIPped for cage.
We were out visiting relo's who live up the road from each other and it
could have been me, wife or eldest daughter driving.
Do you have to go to court to ask for the photos or do they have to send
    them to you?
We're not sure who was driving as the car was used to ferry elderly
types up and down the same road with different people driving at
different time so the picture (or video I guess) would settle the
    matter.

    Cheers.

Oh and happy new year Mr Brunstrom....

There should be a URL on the NIP to a website with the photo. At least
that's how it works round these parts.

    Tell them it was Danny.
Or whoever has fewest points on his licence.

If you have the opportunity to take a fixed penalty then decide amongst
yourselves. I'm assuming you don't all have 9 points already...

You've decided it was Mark then, as the other 2 choices are female...

  6. Heh. Is the right answer :)

What would happen if all three of you claimed you were driving? They
couldn't nick you for failing to confess or whatever they call it, and
equally they couldn't nick all or any of you....

    Heh :)
It is genuinely a tricky one; two sets of elderly types a mile or so up
the road from each other. One set of oldies needs to visit another
oldie, a gift is forgotten and then after an hour the visiting oldies
are returned home. So 6 possible runs with 3 different drivers as the
gift run was made by the missus and daughter together while I was left
with old types. I made the initial run with wife making return run.
May have been an unmarked car with video as no one saw a camera van.

    35mph.......

They should have given the time as part of the NIP.

    Well there is another possibility....
Taken from behind; hence my wish to see the evidence...
If it means court its easier to take the points and of course it will be
me as the female logic here went like this:

'You're the one who speeds and never gets caught so you deserve it....'

As it's 35, stated in your other post, presumably in a 30 then it will be 3
points. As long as you don't accumulate any further points then this
    indiscretion won't affect your insurance.

Do a deal with one of the females. You pay the fine and one of them takes
the points. Otherwise, just scribble one of their names on the form and
send it back. Job done. Divorce pending.

Ask to see the evidence. If the driver is not clearly identifiable from
it, then write back explaining that there were three possible drivers,
and you cannot positively identify who was driving.

    They have.
If we were to remember exactly what time who was in the car; why... That
would mean we could work out which of us it was... :)

I'd be tempted to send an expanded version of the above to them, giving the
details of all possible drivers. Handwritten, but green ink might come
across as over-egging the pudding. I'd also suggest you bone up on AP
Herbert's 'Misleading Cases' before composing your confession.
