Well, today I did it..... I 'Crossed the Line'....for good.....

    I sold my car.

    I SOLD MY CAR!!!!

Can I confess I cried? (not a lot - I just got a little bit teary, because
it was the only new car I've ever owned n my life, and I loved it?)

I just couldn't justify paying rego and insurance for a vehicle that I have
driven fewer than a dozen times in the last year....

It was kind of nice to know I had a back-up though....

    betty, oh well...

The finality of it was a little bit freaky though. It felt like cutting that
Silver Cord... no going back now! (not that I want to - I love riding so
much it's scary sometimes!) I suppose there was a little bit of a
safety-net, knowing there was a car there if I ever needed it (bloody
expensive safety-net tho).... Well... onwards and upwards, eh? See how I
    go!!!!

Well, for backup purposes, you need another bike. :)

    I suppose it's cos I only had a car for 6 years or so... I noticed I
wasn't driving the thing, sold it to someone for a couple of slabs,
    and never looked back.

Once I had my mitts on a motorcycle of my very own, cars were just so
uninteresting. And there's never anywhere to park them!

I don't own a car! Wellll, I have the company ute, and Helen has a car.

They're very expensive things to just have sitting in your carport though.

    Good on ya girl!

Don't worry, if you ever need one you will have friends who own one
you can use. Much cheaper in the long run.

Or just rent one. Rental companies do them as cheap as $25 a day (for
one under a year old). If you only need a car once in a blue moon it's
a lot less hassle and hugely cheaper than keeping even an old bomb.

Cheap pushie! Washout your mouth... I could sell you a _very_
expensive motorbike, with fold down handlebars, to lift into the boot of
    a rented car or van.

Last time I rented a van, the bloke looked very surprised when I
returned it, and pulled out the Z from the back, started it up and rode off.

Get a set of large throwover panniers for the motorcycle. Those and a
gearsack I managed shopping for 4 people, so you should manage :)
I use the trailer for most biggish stuff, if it's bigger than the
trailer can handle it's either 2 trips or hire a ute.

heh. I wonder how easy it would be to strap on the back of the Norge.

Take the Norge in for a service, ride home from Richmond on Bluey!

Hope you got a good price as my wife would have loved it just because of the
    colour.
