Well obviously; I wouldn't visit my own mum if she didn't live at the end of
the enjoyable A30. OTOH I wouldn't visit people like Ace if they weren't
decent company. I'd definitely be put off though but some mandatory
requirement to be in a "nearly...suicidal mindset" and would rather spend
time with people like Rob who, despite getting yet another ribbing, at least
doesn't act like he's out to prove something all the time, and still makes
the journey for the company.

But then I'll slow and boring so wtf do I know.

There were moments when I thought "doing this on a ZRX may well kill
me."

 

For what it's worth, the wasn't a single moment that I could class as
"nearly suicidal" in my week. I suspect Ace might have been
exxagerating for effect, to be honest.

I'd agree. And that's from the perspective of taking a knife to a
gunfight in terms of what we were all riding. There certainly wasn't
any pressure for any of you to take silly risks... nor for me to.

The only real moment of hesitancy[1] was finding one of those blind
bridges that the road turns sharpish right after and covered in
gravel.

Other than that, everything was measured.

Oh, and I don't think we missed any corners this year.

No, I did think it. I'm recalling the incident where I was on my own
and a tractor pulled out in front of me, with a 35 foot trailer on the
back of it.

Probably my closest run in ever on a bike, that was... and all down to
the ZRX not stopping as well as a sportsbike from 3 figure speeds.

All my own doing though.

Well, that's definitely the case. But even so, I don't think Bruce
had any real moments. I mean, I was the only person who nearly hit a
car, and it wasn't *that* near.

 

Correct. Nobody made me take any chances.

Plus, I'm the one that left the trip early because after a week out
there my attention span wasn't 100% any more.
