Well, that's true enough, I guess. It was definitely the back that went.

Very wet road, on a tight narrow corner where the tarmac gets very
polished by heavy traffic. Going a bit faster than I probably should
have been, and all of a sudden I'm sliding along the ride with the bike
between my legs.

Counted my limbs, picked the bike up, made sure the wheels were
straight, adjusted my lycra and off I pedalled.

 

heh, I remember Champ making a similar post once about a stoppie going
wrong.

 

There's nothing new in this world.

The most annoying thing about it is that the sticky graze near my elbow
is right where I want to rest it on the arm of the chair.

Oh, and the lecture about not wearing a helmet from the A&E nurse who
lived across the road. "Saved my husband's life!" Pffft.

 

Are we talking pedal-power?

Maybe me being thick, but wearing lycra and no helmet made me think he
was talking about a pushbike rather than a motorbike.

er, he was. The phrase "off I pedalled", which Bear thoughtfully

I was just in a hurry to get home, 'cos I was hungry and wanted to go to
the pub.

 

I blame retirement. Sat around at home all day, nothing to think about
expect whether it's time for another cup of tea yet. His brain's
probably turning to mush.

 

I'm just relieved you've finally realised. I thought I was going to have
to send the men in white coats round.

That spray plaster stuff is good for this. stings like a mofo though.

 

That's okay, it's not sticky now. Still a bit sore to rest on, though.
