When I bleed the VFR (I should have shot it) the manual said to use a
    power/vacuum bleeder.. I didnt
after 4 days of trying to bleed the system throu its 7 nipples and
gave up and bought a 60ml syringe from a chemist and with a piece of
3mm hose and I sucked the fuild through, worked like a charm..

Fraser, time to buy a syringe! (try a vet)

It's hardly a complex system, but I had to do just that to get
the fronts on my yzf1000r bled.

I've done this myself, and it does seem to work, but I have to admit the
whole idea is so preposterous that I didn't see fit to talk about it in
    public.

PS: You can buy replacement banjo bolts with bleed nipples in them, if
you're feeling less preposterous. No idea if they work. The XLV brake
system is simple enough that you really can hang the caliper from the
ceiling and pump the bubbles up, and it doesn't work worth shit anyway.

Had the same symptoms on bmw I found minuscule hole blocked [bottom of
reservoir in side of master cylinder] [bypass or equalizer or some such
    thing]

  5. The gixxer does have a master cylinder bleed screw. I got a power
bleeder yesterday so it looks like I will give it a really good bleed
today and replace all the fluid. I'll post my results.

  6. Looks like a warped rotor. I can bleed the brakes and get a hard lever
but the second I move the bike it looks like it is compressing the
piston back into the caliper. So it is all coming apart tomorrow and
going on a run out gauge on Monday.

take calipers off, put straight edge against forkleg to disk then spin
    rim..
also do the rim, as it maybe fawkt too since isnt this 1 bike from 20
    broken ones?

  9. Good call. I'll give it a crack. Bike is all one piece with a few bits
like the radiator and fairings replaced. I can see damage on the edge
of the rotor so I'll be replacing it anyway. Don't want the front brake
grenading on the main straight at Wanneroo.

The most likely place for it happen is 6 metres off a bumper under full
breaking when you really need a stop
