I thank you for the kind offer. It will not be necessary the bike is fixed
TFFT.

It was a two part problem, the inability to pull away using less than 4k rpm
and low rpm misfires has been solved. The TPS whilst giving satisfactory
static readings for set-up, was jumping intermittently as it is turned
through
it's arc. This has been upsetting the ECU which has basically been unable to
meter the fuel properly. The second part being the bikes inability to rev.
Turns out there was a small split in one of the internal tank pipes causing
a
loss of pressure to the injectors (this was also compounding the low rpm
running problems). The pipe has been replaced and the bike road tested.
It’s now spinning up the back wheel in the wet quite happily.

<breathes huge sigh of relief>

 

Jeez nothing quick and easy. You wouldn't want to be tracing that sort of
thing in -30c darkness.

 

I've set up a blog but I don't know if I can be arsed to update it.
