I had occasion to visit Stockton On Tees today.

By **** it was cold (and grim).

Heh, I was with a client, but thanks for the offer, I spotted the signs to
    Harrogate.

We past some snow covered hills near, erm, Thirsk I think

    Stockton was very austere.

  3. Stockton eh, lucky you & me both. I had the pleasure of visiting this
quaint, chintzy town last month, it was pissing down & i was sat in the van
smoking fags & drinking coffee & waiting. It sure is a shithole.
    Regards, K.

I take it you've never visited Barrow in Furness on a wet day then. Makes
    Stockton look like Paris.

I wouldn't go as far as to call it a shithole, just a bit austere and cold.

I now have to send a team of engineers there to carry out the aircon [1] job
    I was surveying.

BTW, I would snip sigs IIWY, as folks round here can be a bit tetchy about
    that kinda thing.

[1] Yes, I know. The equipment I have in mind can heat as well as cool
    though.

Barrow-in-Furness on the nicest possible summer's day still makes
    anywhere else look more attractive.

Heh, I started my journey from MK, and know Slough intimately.

Ahh, I get your point now.

    <thinks>

At least they're in the south.

Heh, I took the Zephyr out on Sunday and my fingers got fucking cold.

I had to stop at M&P and buy some thermal under gloves.

My fingers were still fucking frozen, so I guess that was £5.95 down the
    shitter.

    Ho hum

    *shudder*

Northern Premier League, Tuesday evening, sometime in the early 90s.
    Pissing down with rain.

Still, at least they had the sense to put the bar over the terracing
behind one of the goals so you could watch the match from the comfort of
    the bar.
