Dealer in Leeds "Startright" has lots of Norton Rotary stuff and one of
the police type jobs in the window. Soon as I looked at it last week I
realised Norton had cloned the BMW R100RS top fairing! sensible chaps.
The F1 looks a lot better. One of the race bikes regularly visits the
Irish road races. Not competitive against the modern 600's and the
    1000's just piss on it.

What the world needs is for Mazda to team up with a chassis builder like
Yamaha or one of the Italian crowd and put something based on the RX-8
lump in a bike. Turbine smooth 200bhp with perfectly linear torque and
power curves is possible from a very light power plant.

They can be tuned of course but they can also be incredibly linear. The
Hercules felt thus. Capacity is another neat trick, a rotary can add a
few hundred CC with very little increase in engine size. Yours is a twin
rotor 1300cc though some would argue it's 2600 or 3900cc.

Rotary's are performing well on alternative fuels. Mazda has a good
    hydrogen burning variant in demo.

They do!! what a bunch of twats. The sensible options are the swept
volume of one rotor or three. I think 2 was some fucked up formula
    related to race regs.

nominal capacity by comparing the volume of petrol and air mixture
ignited at a crankshaft speed of 1000rpm against the voume ignited at
the same speed by a four stroke engine.

Like a two stroke, each Wankel rotor chamber is fired once every
cranskaft revolution, rather than once every other crankshaft
revolution for a four stroke engine.

Three rotor faces, but the crank turns at one third of rotor speed,
    so...

And since someone's already posted a link to RealClassic I don't feel
so bad about posting this link ( http://www.realclassic.co.uk/norton06120100.html
) with the footnote about Wankel engine capacities and racing...

The F1 is ok but if you want one that goes as well as it looks,
The Norton Commander is the bike for you. :)

Sort of related... anyone any idea who might want a large, framed JPS
Norton Rotary print? Nation and Spray synchronised wheelieing, print
    signed by both of them.

I tried e-mailing the bloke that posted on UKRM a couple of years ago
wanting Norton memorabilia, but not response
