All part of the cunning plan Bamfy, all part of the plan.

  2. One good typo deserves another. Didn't see anything too fishy about it,
but I'd guess it was probably maroon.

A couple of months ago, I went to the Sydney Motorcycle Show and had a
    bit of a wander round.

Saw several rather nice bikes, but was most fascinated by the Can-Am Spyder.

The distributors had a mob of them available for test rides.

As those of you who know me would understand, I am easily led astray, so
I took them up on the offer. I even managed to get one of the
"automatic" versions, which is really a proper geared job with push
    button electronic controls.

Well, the Spyder accelerates quite hard, brakes very well, and, I
suspect when you get the hang of it, probably steers OK, too.

At something in the order of thirty grand, it isn't a cheap thing, and I
have to admit I did enjoy my wee round the block ride, but what kept
coming into my mind was "what is it for?".

    Now, I think I understand..... ;-)

Hope you're feeling better soon, betty.

    regards,

Thanks jules - in fact, thanks everybody for the good wishes, pay-outs and
    general all-round aus.moto-ness.

Am still seeing the funny side of being brought down by a passing wind
<snigger> coz I'm soooo mature, and can't resist a fart joke (and CC, I
don't think the CanAm Spyder was made with me in mind, or the price tag
would've been a lot smaller! three fiddy and a something or other to the
    willy-willy...)

    betty the bus-catcher (erk!)

What's the odds of getting hit by willy willy whist stopped at the
    lights in Canberra? Lotto ticket?

Now that's an opportunity....you might have forgotten? it just so
happens that I have a great 12 shaft weaving loom
taking up space here; you never know, your talents might encompass
    more than the pen?
Good to hear that you survived the ordeal, just take it easy for the
next month and I don't like to suggest it, but have
you given thought to getting something with a lower centre of gravity?

    Good thinking Gerry!
Just got a phone call from the doc re the radiology report. I've chipped a
bone. 6 weeks off the bike. And I have to go back to the effing hospital
tomorrow for a back slab and crutches. Great. Might get 2 lottery tickets,
    eh?

Well to be quite honest -
    a) Same thing happens to me I'd probably do the same
    b) Might also get blown off.

Just hope the ankle's OK !
