Thanks guys - a nice bit of perspective there.

    Thinking about t-shirt slogans <snigger>

    We have the "I rode with Clem and have the scars to prove it";
"I rode with Clem and survived"
and maybe we can add the following:

"I rode with Doug and watched him pick up"
    "I helped Betty pick up"
    and last but not least:

    "Fraser Knows..."

  3. Having been married to one - once - I'd retract all potentially
disparaging remarks, most of the complimentary remarks (because they ALL
have flaws which will be held against you), and begin running away...
    very very fast.

Hey Betty, maybe you should listen to what Fraser has to say. He's been
off his L's for almost 6 months now... he's obviously full of good
advice that everyone can learn from.

Started riding in paddocks in 59. Got my licence in 63. Bought a 1949
    Morris 8 Van, then a 57 BSA.

1964 gravel on edge of roundabout, minor bleeding.

1964 ran over dog. Off the bike for a week.

1973 Yamaha fell over in carport with some help from my children.

1976 Lost the back on the Guzzi braking on a wet downhill. No damage
to me. Bike needed brake lever.

1980 Stopped at the bank and forgot to put the stand down.

1986 Hit by car changing into my lane, didn't fall off.

1998 Kangaroo out on the nullarbor

    1999 the emu incident.

2008 gravel on corner, a few scratches.

Not too bad for 40 odd years.

Some bright spark up the road from me has a pet emu in his yard,
behind a four foot fence. Some people....
