In particular meandering around French A and B roads which have no
    particular signposting!

I don't. More often than not I don't bother with the one I've got.

I've got Joanna Lumley as the voice, so I like it, especially when she
says "You have reached your destination darling".

Hmmm... not bad, but are they that much better than the Sennheisers?

I need to get a new set (I think I've killed my old ones with too much
loud music), and the latest Sennheisers all seem to be going for
    not-very-much on eBay.

But do I get CX 300-II, CX 400-II, or CX 500? Too much choice!

The Cardo Rider FM speakers I have in my Nitro flip-up are audible at
100mph, whether it's my radio or the satnav in use.

It'd be so much better if she shouted "I'm coming too"

Does the radio pick up TP traffic alerts on FM?

Mine doesn't, it's just a basic radio with no RDS or TP alerts. Tbh,
the lack of RDS pisses me off more when travelling long distance, as I
have to retune the radio as I move out of area. TP alerts aren't needed
    on a bike, surely

My favourite voice is the GLaDOS one, which will only make sense to
anyone that's played Portal. It's based on a rogue AI that gives you
false directions, tells you you're probably going to die, and every so
often suggests you give up the journey as getting to the destination
    is futile.

The voice file is free, but the Kleenex bill soon mounts up.

    Excuse me then

I was disappointed in the John Cleese tom tom voice.
    I wanted more exasperation..

Are these the SatNav equivalent of "comedy" ring-tones, which usually
make me want to grab the thing and chuck it out of the nearest window
    whenever it goes off?

Yes, mine's on the standard english burd voice, seems to be about the
    easiest to comprehend when motoring.
