She's coming over separately on the boat [1] so that's not too much of
an issue. She's also got a licence but no bike. I'm not brave enough
to contemplate the latter.

You don't have to use panniers to carry a weeks worth of luggage,
I'll just use my tankbag, tailpack and a rucksack if my panniers don't
sit right.

I'm only going to the IoM so it's a case of a quick blast to
Liverpool and then we're there. I'm sure there's a washing machine
where we're stopping so I might get away with just the tailpack this
trip.

 

Can't you ask Sniper to cart her round again?

Riding uninsured on the back of mine plus half a lap with an
enthusiatic Champ was a better option. What a top holiday that was so
make sure you're there in '06 to ensure it goes as equally well.

Apparently, Marino wool is the new artificial fibre for base and mid
layers, not only wicking better than polyester et al. but being
naturally resistent to bacteria build-up such that an undershirt can
be worn for a whole week without washing (or smelling).

Actually, the rep[1] claimed to have used a marino shirt for a whole
season without washing it, which might be exaggerating. Or not. As
remains to be seen. I'll be buying some asap so we'll see how well it
works at xmas.
