    Renewal for Lesley's Alfa from Zurich is over £500

    Confused.com lowest is £239 - Swinton
    Monthly = 11 x £30.71 - Total 337.81 @ 39.7%apr

    Next is Diva (Part of Swinton group!) = £262
    Monthly = 11 x £27.34 - Total £300.84 @ 39.7%apr

    They don't appear to be able to do basic sums FFS!

    Indeed. Over 90% APR in fact.

    How do you calculate that? I mean, in the second example, they're
    charging £39 interest on a bill of £262. Does a 'reducing balance'
    calculation come up with 90%?

    I only looked at the first one - 93.2%. The second one is closer -
    34.6%.

    <waves hands, vaguely>

    Dunno. They work the opposite end of the field to where I used to
    work, IYSWIM. Being the senior service, Environmental Health deals
    with aspects of public safety and quality of life. TS deals with the
    black and white stuff, making sure the public, once safe, don't get
    ripped off. I guess they'd listen to you.
