    Makes sense to me.

Over the years lots of stuff changes...<shrug>

I don't think there is any "hush-hush" stuff going on behind our backs,
but, then again, if there was, would I know about it?

Maybe it's a revolutionary attempt to lower the road toll? You know, if
they don't tell you, then they *won't* have to kill you! ;)

That's hardly fair Gerry. He'll probably talk more to the rest of us.
Very unkind of you to foist more George upon us.

You're assuming that they will exclude people, such as yourself,
without you ever attempting to post to their moderated group? Hmmm,
you may be right. You and I, and maybe Clem, and definitely George,
may be excluded from groups we've never heard of.

I've never posted to a moderated group in my net life, and I don't
imagine you have. I do know a couple of people who harrass moderated
group just to get the pleasure of being excluded. No one here though.

I spent the first two years of my life in a German occupied country
and spent two years in the school cadets, playing with Boer War Lee
Enfields and Vickers MMGs but I don't suppose that counts. :)

  8. Gerry, or whatever name you like to go by,
    I don't give a **** what you think
I know where I went and know the blokes who went with me and that is all
    that matters to me
    Your opinions don't matter.
On your opinion of me, well, that is all in your little brain, that is if
you have one left after delving into the dark world of self medication
I have, done some checking of my own and with the name and names you have
    given out over the years
oddly enough, none of these names have come up with any living person who
may have served in Vietnam or anywhere else while enlisted in the Australian
    Armed Services.
You did give out one name in another group and lo and behold, there it was,
that name did come up as enlisted personnel
but, now Gerry, here is the but,
That person who's name you gave, was listed as missing in action, presumed
killed in action in 1967 as nothing further has been heard of him.
As I said at first when you put yourself on your almighty high pedestal,
I do not, under any circumstances, have to reveal to you nor to anyone else,
    what my Army service was
That is past history which ended in 1962 anad that is where it is going to
    stay.
I am no glory hunter, unlike you and heaps of others
I served my time and that is that.
I am quite a few years older than you Gerry and I have no need to go to the
    RSL for backup for anything.
My life is my own, has been and always will be.
Go and get fucked Gerry, then again, you probably have done already

Oh, I was rather thinking about FaceBook and such like.

When FB started, I got the impression that you had to be a hairdresser
and drive an MX-5 to get on there.

I later was told that it was either/or as a qualification, although both
    was considered better. ;-)

If you have to ask, it would appear that you may not be able to afford it.

Despite the much maligned Transport Accident Commission here in Victoria, it
seems that we have a cheaper and fairer system. None of this bullshit about
being done for neg. riding if you're thrown off you bike when you hit a roo, or
hit a patch of oil at night or whatever.

I wonder, because of this law, how many single rider crashes are attributed to
say, falling off the roof, or a car running you down as you cross the road after
getting a hamburger (or donut - coppers can relate to that) but it disappeared.

    That sort of thing.

I encourage others to try the maa.gov.au greenslip calculator with a
    Piaggio X7 250cc commute scoot:

    AAMI $387.65
    Allianz $310.00 (previously $151)
    CIC-Allianz $382.00
    GIO $380.67
    NRMA $296.48
    QBE $356.00
    Zurich $386.00

So, a $159 bump for me, over 100%. That'll take my annual running costs
from ~$2200 to ~$2350, although I really should stop buying petrol on
    Sunday. -_-

Do they base this on the risk of the rider causing his/her pillion a disabling
    injury?
You've pretty well described the definition of a politician.

How long has NSW had private insurers handling CTP?

Even if you take all the pillion injuries in single vehicle and rider
at fault, take them as having large payouts (which most don't) and
take those payouts as having long duration (which most don't) then you
still don't get to this level of money.

Pillons are *rare*. Pillion crashes are rare.

And the insurance should be no different to the case of passengers in
cars. Although it could be argued that the occuerences of passengers
in tin cans is even rarer, with the average occupancy rate of tin cans
    being 1.00001.
