    Yes they do exist :)

Private room, free TV, phone, nice garden, glorious sunny weather to
sit in, slotted into a cancellation so just over 2 weeks waiting, in on
Thursday, all the metalwork removed from my leg Friday, back home
    Saturday.

Pity I also get my own private world of pain for the next 5 days or so.

Metalwork removed to try and get rid of (significant) remainder of pain
    in leg/knee.

Quote from surgeon who also cleaned the knee joint out:-
"The knee is full of stringy scar tissue everywhere so we can't see
much, but its working far better than its got any right to so enjoy it
    whilst you can" :)

<waits for 0% APR deal on the ZZR1400>

I must now be a very good boy for 3 months or so <quote> "No parachute
    jumping or sky diving" !

You could always try Morris Dancing, it's a "low impact" sport. ;-)

    But don't forget the exercises

You can lose 20% muscle mass in the thigh

.... which I didn't believe, until I saw how scrawny the left leg looked

Same here, the amount of muscle wastage over only a 2 week period was very
noticeable, and by **** did my leg ache once I was mobile again.

Dunno about muscle wastage, but the time I got knocked off the Trophy, I
could have done with some lardy fat gut wastage.

Dan L? He'z just ziz guy, you know?
Yep I know only too well how quickly it wastes away.

Its a horrible juggle between taking it easy trying not to re-break it
and doing weight bearing to keep the muscles.

Well, it was, played that game and I know muscles build back up a lot
    quicker than bone :)
