Well I didn't offer to DVF a group visit to NI for this years race in
the certain knowledge that the ride is too far for you all and the ferry
fare too extortionate. It had to be the best year of the event ever in
many ways. Perfect weather, every race went off well, no red flags,
    great racing.

Tullyhubbert's bruv set of early and got us tickets for the grandstand
on the start line. Lovely job and thanks Rob. The Battle of Britain
flight and low flying Tornadoes made a great start to the day.

Maybe next year but the problem is in 2nd guessing the weather. In the
pissing rain I wouldn't even ride from Belfast to see it.

Do it. Bee and I did and we had a great time. It's definitely on my list
    of things to do again.

I keep meaning to get SWMBO to lay on a visit to her clan at the right
time. As they also just created their own private MX practice track it
would be a must - but only if it was at a school holiday time

  4. Did the whole thing again this year with a different bunch of Aussies
except this year we stayed with one of the sector marshalls and ended
up Marshalling on an up-hill left-hander on the coast road about 500
metres after the railway bridge. Think it was called Black Hill bend.

Anyway the weather was great and it were luverly to see all that white
skin turn a lobster shade. Daft bastards.

Spent the next 12 days in an anticlockwise rain filled lap of Ireland
then back to Belfast and off to the IoM on 24 May.

Will do it all again next year.

BTW shipping the bikes over is a helluva lot cheaper than all other
options I've looked at, even if it does take 31 days from Melbourne to
    Felixstowe.

Am loading the 18 bikes into a container for the return journey on 6
July which gives us 8 weeks in Ireland, UK, IoM & Europe. Doing the
Dutch TT at Assen as our last event.

    Kind regards

Good going that man. I noted it was cheaper and easier to crate my own
bike to the USA than try to hire something for a month.

  6. 'Cept that the bikes are not crated. Much easier to load the way I do
it. Been doing for 7 years now and it works just fine.

At risk of being slagged as a spammer, have a look at
    http://www.getrouted.com.au/How_its_done.html

Am considering offering a UK to Aust & NZ service next year.

    Kind regards

I like it! can one put partners in the shipping crate with a bottle of
water and a bag of pies too?
The site didn't mention costs?? How much from say UK or Dublin to Aus
    or NZ return for instance.

  8. Does one love one's partner, may I ask?
That's cos I'm still considering the idea and don't have accurate
prices costed recently. Most probably around £1150 return to
Australia. Can bring individual bikes here in September 2007, have 3
months in Aussie then across to NZ for around £400 and have a month or
2 in NZ and ship back to Aust then back to the UK in March.

If the dates don't suit I could still store the bikes until people
arrive at a time which does suit.

If a group of 10 or 20 bikes you name your own dates in consultation
with me. and it would be Felixstowe to either Brisbane, Sydney or
Melbourne. Any of the above to Christchurch in NZ and from
    Christchurch to Felixstowe.

Shipping Syd, Bris or Mel to Chch takes 10 days approx. Spend that
time pissing it up in Sydney!
It would be ex Felixstowe in Suffolk.

The biggest difficulty for UK & European folks is that getting 3/4
months holiday ain't that easy, whereas Kiwis & Aussies have more
liberal employment conditions and can for example add two years hols
together to make 8 weeks and then add long service leave to make 16
weeks, assuming they qualify for long service.

The big advantage for UK residents holidaying in NZ & Australia is the
very favourable exchange rate. The £ is buying approx NZ$3 at present
and a £ buys in London what a NZ$ buys in NZ. Makes for a cheap
    holiday.

Can offer a fully guided tour of NZ but, frankly most of those who
haunt this parish would have no difficulties reading a map of NZ or
Aussie for that matter. www.top10.co.nz is the way to go for cheap
accommodation in NZ and they've got parks all over both islands. Their
    cabins are excellent.

I have a large number of Kiwis & Aussies doing the NZ & Aus to UK trip
next year for the 100 year anniversary IoM TT.

Maybe as many as 400 bikes, and No, I won't be leading them on a
guided tour. I am however shipping their bikes and organising their
airfares and accommodation on the IoM.

    Kind regards
