Odd one, but a good idea!

OK, you see these Sky vans vinyl covered with pictures of Homer & gay green
    frogs.

Can the same technology be applied to motorcycle helmets?

The reason i ask is my X spirit is so much better than any helmet i have
ever had (quite a few) but looks fucking horrid.

Nice matt black finish this week, nice electric blue the week after.

Also, they would stop that really annoying little scuffs you get on them

You know how those Sky vans are like kinda flat and box shaped,
perfectly suiting the flat nature of sheets of vinyl....

No problem for a person of Nige's experience. He's an expert in fitting
    stomp grips IIRC.

search for vehicle wrap, it's a printed vinyl, but thinner than normal vinyl
used for die cutting, and it's applied with heat so it molds to the contors
or the vehicle, not sure if it can handle a spherical object tho.

Compound curves Nige. You KNOW what it's like getting the tank protectors to
lie flat, just imagine what it'd be like doing a full helmet.

Aye, but if the material was thin enough?

Oh well, thats that fucked then.

How about ribbed? Or in different flavours?
    Indeed.

Well, i would hardly call VW beetles & TT's square & they get done too.

I reckon it could be done with thin material.

They don't have compound curves as tight as a helmet though.
I seriously doubt it could be done in one piece. It could be done in
strips though, if you can come up with a design that masks the joints
    with stripes or summit.

I'll say this so you understand Nige. You won't get it done/be able to do it
    on a crash hat.

The only way you're going to get it done is to get whatever you want on the
lid drawn on water in a tank big enough to hold your lid. Submerge the lid,
do the drawing, then let the lid rise. Like a Pheonix from the waters.

The curves are too tight for a vinyl wrap.

    Even thin vinyl.

It'd have to be as thin as..... well paint really.
