Just back from Innaminka, a great ride although the 40 kph sand storm on
Friday made the dirt riding very interesting.

How did Ray Peake go with his knobby-shod R90S?

A broken ankle I understand was the worst of it. Ray and I took 5 days, 2 to
get there one day on site and 2 to get back.

I broke down about 60 k east of Innaminca with a alternator rotor failure,
took Ray about 20 muintes to replace it and get us back on the road. Apart
from that it was a good run, although the deep sand in some parts gave the
riding skills a work out particularly in the sand storm. The head wind was
so strong in some places my fuel consumption dropped to 9.5 kilometres per
    litre.

That was a bloke on a F650 on the bore track. I made it through that
way without incident. Stupidly I decided to ride out to the dig tree
on Friday through the dust storm, it was interesting...

Did you see a middle-aged short woman on a blue/grey R1200GS with Tas rego?
    Wondering if she made it.

  8. I believe so. Sounds like the lady I met at the Warnertown Rally (SA) at the
weekend. She was on her way back from the Off Centre.

No she didn't. BMW made it (in their factory).

'Fraid I didn't see her (though that's certainly not to say she didn't
make it). I only saw two R1200GS, one dark (blue/grey?) with a bloke
on it and a nice dent in his front alloy wheel, and one yellow with a
woman possibly from QLD on it.

  15. Would be, although she's a Tassie, she's a member of my club, BMWTCNSW (or
was maybe). One of two members that reside in Tas, both female. The other
one has an F650GS (ex Manning)
