Well, the blade turned up today, mint as I expected. Took it for a
nice run tonight, By heck, it is a feckin' nice ride for £2k. Feels
solid as the day it was made. I much prefer this over the Hayabusa,
more comfortable, less twitchy & altogether - more fun.

It's got a Yoshimura can on at the minute, it's carbon fibre, I don't
like loud cans. Looks expensive, I might flog it & get an original. How
much do you reckon on eBay? It is brand new too. Also has new Dunlop
Quals on & new chain & sprockets.

    I'm well chuffed.

Indeed, I had a 1998 Blade that 16" front wheel made it very twitchy. Busa's
    are planted. IMO.

Mine felt a bit that way on some of the tighter corners, mind you,
thats probably because I can't ride for shit. I found the blade
'easier' to ride at my level. Maybe there was a slight issue with the
busa. One of the reasons I want to get it round a track. The bike felt
more 'alive' on the same roads I took the busa. The odd thing, it just
didn't feel like it needed any counter steering, where the busa
demanded it by the bucket. Maybe I'm just shite on bikes, who knows.

All i know i was laughing like a Rampton all the way home.

I do however, need to alter the angle of the gearchange, it's non too
good on the boots & ankle.

Odd, it was 'planted' but the throttle was twitchy & that made it feel
less than I wanted it to be. Dont get me wrong, it was an awesome bike,
but, it gave me backache & the blade doesnt. It's also cost less than
    half the busa.

Probably right. I suppose it all comes down to what you like, not what
    you expect.

I can see the blade doing some serious miles this year.

What sort of miles do blades need valves doing etc?

I also found going into a bend, it loaded up the inside bar to the
point of getting uncomfortable. It was a great bike though, just not
    for me.

I'll get a second hand one, not interested in new. I once looked into
getting a new system for my KTM 520 SX, it was 'only' £489!!

The Busa's a bigger heavier bike so it probably did take more steering
input to get it to turn. Does the blade have a steering damper fitted?
I imagine it has, but if not, that might make a difference too. Not
sure I understnad the throttle issue. Maybe your 'Busa wasn't fuelling
properly so the action was a bit switch-like coming off a closed
throttle. Anyway, it's all irrelevant if the Blade suits you better.

I think he means the throttle was very sensitive, like on any powerful
    bike... and it scared him.

Champ banged the rocks together and they said :
    Makes sense to me.

Comparing the two V twins to the jap IL4, the V twins throttle does
very little for the first 10~30% of movement, the 9R is extremely
sensitive in comparison. And I'm not talking about the slack in the
    cables.

It just takes time to adjust, but I can imagine a bike with poor FI or
badly set up carbs going from 0% to 80% power in 25% of throttle
movement - hence you need bloody fine control to ride it smoothly.
Maybe squared off back tyre? I know that makes a bike need "persuading"
more to lean over (until it gets past the flat section then it tries to
    do a suicide dive)
