    **** knows what's wrong with it, but you'd be better off just rolling
    it into a lake and buying something 1/2 modern.

    A nice Fiat Punto would suit you.

    The sounds it's making would perhaps indicate that the damage caused
    by it may be more extensive than 'just' the bearing, even if that's
    the root cause.

    has Sir checked the hub caps (one on the front) - a favourite trick
    used to be to put stones in to make a rattle.

    You will notice the wheel that's making the noise has no hubcap.
