No. I tried it the other day when the Blade was a little reluctant to
play. I had to leave it for half an hour or so before I got any joy.

  2. So this morning I got out to the bike, and it's absolutely freezing. I
probably shouldn't have considered riding cos of the fog anyhow but
regardless, would the fucking thing start? would it bollox.

So now I need to buy a charger/optimate type thing, cos no doubt there's
feck all juice left in the battery, unless it happens to get
substantially warmer today and it fires up when I get home.

Anyone know if an optimate can be used as a booster? ie is there any
problem with starting the bike with optimate still attached and juicing

I hope not, I didn't run it completely flat, just gave up when I noticed

Yeah I've seen them used before, didn't realise they were that cheap
though, so I might actually consider it...

of course what I really need is a garage.

Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, Doesnotcompute
I think I got mine from either Machine Mart (www.machinemart.co.uk), or
Screwfix (www.screwfix.co.uk). It was (IIRC) on a special at the time
and I paid about 40 quid.

As you're moving, I guess that goes on the priority list?

As you'll be moving towards the equator, it's less of a priority, eh?

He might have a garage but no house perhaps.
    flashgorman, Dec 10, 2003
  15. 20% but it's irrelevant, what is relevant is how much profit I make from
my current house. Hopefully it'll be substantial.

I really wouldn't recommend this course of action unless you want to blow up
    your Optimate =:)

You don't need to anyway. Just connect a reasonably heavy duty mains cable
across the starter +ve feed and a good frame earth. Hit the power switch
just as you thumb the start button. Ensure the mains trip has a good 50amp
    fuse first.
Well, it's at least as good an idea.

This technique was of course first used on poor starting BMW
    boxer twins )
