I gave up on trying to educate people. I suspect it may have been
    deliberate.

  4. Indeed.

One law - don't cause harm to anyone else.

    </FWIT>

Of course you then have to define exactly what constitutes 'harm'..

Of course it was, which is why it was worth a mildly amused reply.
It's not as if Darsy doesn't try and amuse us regularly, thank goodness.

The latest i heard on the news was they were going to charge us to use the
main routes between the 3 big cities in the east midlands, i.e. the A52
    between nottingham and derby,
so to avoid those tolls you'd have to use the B roads,

that's what gets to me, where as the auto routes in france were built as
toll roads, over here they want to take existing normal roads and charge us
to use them in the future,
Aye, but at least i can park me camper almost where i want to in france,
spent 4 months earlier this year touring europe, and spent a total of 45
quid on charges to camp, 90% of the places i stoped (aires de campingcars)
    were totaly free,

It costs me £29 to get over to france, and once there i can stay in plenty
of places for free, in the uk theres nowhere you can stay legaly for free,
15 quid a night is the norm, and then most of the places try to charge extra
for having the bike on the back even if i dont even start it up, let alone
    take it off the rack,

Yes everyones different in how they live their lives, but for me my money
goes a lot further in france, we can live for almost a month over there for
the cost of a weeks living here excluding 'camping' fee's,

At least when the workers don't like anything in france they do something
    about it,

That'd be interesting, with the number of junctions on that road. I
suppose if you just limited it to the bit between Spondon and
Beeston... but even there's two small junctions round Borrowash and
Ockbrook, IIRC, plus the M1 anfd then Toton, Bramcote and a whole load
before Beeston. A lot of effort to close it off, and I can only
imagine the traffic problem's it'd cause with tailbacks onto the M1 at
    J25...
Well, the old Nottingham road and Derby road aren't so bad. Certainly
they're the roads that were replaced by the 'Borrowash bypass" as it
used to be called, back in the 60s and the new Nottigham road relief
    road in the 70s.
I'm not convinced that your "last I heard" example is entirely
    factual.

T'was on the news a couple of days ago, started out as congestion charging,
where they said they'd charge you to go into nottingham leicester or derby,
but found out if they did that everyone would just go to the next city
without charging and spend their money there,

So they alternative plan was to charge to use the main link roads between
    those 3 cities,

i'm looking into fecking off out of england anyways, so hopefully when they
bring this in i wont care,

i guess the real problem all this road charging and congestion charging
craps is being thought up is there's too many people in the UK,
but the goverrnment wont do owt about that, as each extra person they can
cram in the country is more tax they can get off them.

whilst admitting it was a troll, from m-w.com:

    Main Entry: 1Scotch
    Pronunciation: 'skäch
    Function: adjective
    Etymology: contraction of Scottish
    1 : SCOTTISH
    2 : inclined to frugality [1]

"it's only the Scotch who don't think the word 'Scotch' refer to
    them".

cf. "Scotch egg" "Scotch Pine" "Scotch Corner"

  16. Scottish landowners (mostly absentee) raising sheep for the
Lancashire/Yorkshire mills. Dovetailed nicely with the desire to pacify
the Highlands one way or other. Drove thousands out Canada/America/Aus
direction and thousands to the Central Lowlands.

In those days, though, ruthlessness was the order of the day. Cunts
abounded, but it was a tough old life anyway.
