Oh the shame...

I popped into the place I got the Tigger from this afternoon as I
thought that there might be a slight problem with it [1]

Seems that my 'busa, the one traded in for the Tigger, is back in the
shop - the chap that bought it has rejected it and got his money back
    due to a serious fault.

I was rather taken aback by this, and was asked if I was aware of it.
Seems that the engine has a misfire. Only above 8,000 RPM, and only in
    top gear.

Shamefully, I had to admit that I could not say for sure if the problem
existed during my ownership as I'd not spent sufficient time above 8,000
    RPM in top to notice.

[1] There is, the head bearings seem to be a bit off [2]
[2] worse than that, the pointed out that the rad was leaking [3]
[3] and they can't fit it in for a look until the 6th [4]
    [4] arse!

So you px-ed one lemon for another?

    Sounds fair...

Something to do with the connections to the limiter? If it'll rev out
cleanly in the lower gears, under load, then I can't see what else it
    can be.

Oo-er. The rad could be pricey.

They did the 14k service before selling it which requires disconnecting
quite a lot so it's possible something got disconnected and didn't get
    reconnected.

Any one know off hand what 8000 in top equates to as a speedo reading on a
    99-07 busa?
Having taken off the surrounding stuff & the rad guard, there's no sign of
any impact or other damage, just a leak from the l/h bottom corner of the
rad. I hope that the dealer replaces it under warranty or gets Triumph to
do it (one of the two of them will, I'll let them argue which between them)

    8000rpm???!!! Are you quite mad?!

I would probably asphyxiate at that speed.
