Oi, Elton, NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  1. FFS, 62 and wants to adopt a kid, and that syrup, for god's sake, who
    ever sold him that?
This is simply the latest behaviour of somebody who's been surrounded by
yes men and arse-kissers for too long - he thinks he can always get what
    he wants.
Has nobody ever said to him, "For ****'s sake, Reg, give it a rest and
stop making a fool of yourself."

He's rich, darling. He generally does get what he wants as he can
    afford it.
I have to agree (after watching the video) that he does seem rather
smitten with the young thing but at the age of 62 he may find that he
doesn't have the energy of a 20/30/40 year old does when they're
raising a child so probably needs to look into it a bit more.

Mind you, his social standing and cash alone will guarantee that the
child will have a better upbringing (property, nannies, social
experiences) than he would in an orphanage. But I guess it will be a
bit spoilt if the child does get adopted.

    Why not?

EJ might be 62 but his partner is only 46. It's not unusual for couples
with that age profile to be involved in fostering or adoption.

  5. Yebbut all the kid's going to recall of Elton is a wee wrinkled old bald
git who played the piano. And the other little fuckers at school - "Is
    yer Grandad collecting you today?"

Verging on ego-trips and selfishness, these celebrity adoptions [1].
These are not fucking toys, ffs. If these celebs want to ensure a decent
upbringing for some unfortunates, they could set up trusts and
scholarships like previous generations[2]. Or even sponsor a adopting
couple in the kid's own country - it wouldn't actually cost much pa to
    do that.

[2] Perhaps EJ has done this already, and if he has, then fair play to
    him.

[1] On par, imo, with the IVF mothers in their 50s and 60s.

  6. I heard him say he'd like to adopt the kid.
Of course, you're bound to come out batting for him, no surprise there.

    Oh, and **** off.
