That Vincent you photographed in Chimay, do you have a larger piccy of
that? I *think* you're onto something about it being an Egli-Vincent
but a better photo of the frame might make it easier to identify. I
think I've got some photos of an Egli-Vincent somewhere, just a case
    of finding them...

Oh, and what's this "do you want to fill Bob's seat" thing in the back
    about then?

  2. I've got a pic, yes, but it'll need hunting out. This Saturday (maybe)
Eh? No idea, but then I haven't seen the latest ish yet.

The Older Gentleman was seen penning the following ode to ... whatever:
No worries. I'll (hopefully)[1] be mostly Panning this weekend...
Latest issue arrived yesterday and the ad looks like they're searching
    for a new editor...

[1] Friggin' cheque I've given the owner hasn't shown up in my account
yet. Bit worrying seeing that he said he'd carry it to the bank on
    Monday.

Looks like an Egli to me too.

If you read the editorial you'll see why Bob is leaving...

Seen it now. Yeah, but who wants to live in Lincolnshire?

  6. Oh, I knew he was leaving. Didn't know they were advertising for a
    successor until today.

Having had a squint at SOB Monthly, I think this is the same bike:

    http://www.network-topology.co.uk/images/Chimay2003/Chimay_2003_095.jpg

    Original 1280 x 960 available at
    http://www.network-topology.co.uk/images/Vincent.jpg

I'll have a rummage in the study and try and find the programme - it
may provide a little more detail.

    Surely that's a Godet?

Rummage completed and programme located. According to the runners and
riders relevant to the Regularite class[1], Number 17 is an Egli
Vincent, ridden by Serge Vollard. However, close inspection of
Vincent.jpg reveals what appears to be "Godet" on the tank, just below
the rider's wrist. Well spotted that monotreme.

[1] Rough translation of the notes: "Valuable or technically
interesting motorbikes that the owner doesn't want to race
    competitively." SOB track day, then.
