oil fired boiler servicing - hourly rate

Anyone know what it should be?

Some joker is offering to look at ours for a mere £100/hour.

It's either the pump or the bearings that are going. (Awful
grinding/screeching from the pump). I've done the bearings before but
setting up the pump requires a pressure gauge. And it probably should
have the gases analysed as well.

My gas plumber charges £50 + VAT for an annual service, which is what they
charge per hour. Plus he travels about 10 miles to get here from Brynmawr.
They installed the boiler and I got their name from the WB website. Have
you tried those listed in your area (most will service other makes)?

Guy's a ****, is all I can say.
Usually, it's more of a fixed price for a service, like something
between £90 - 120, depending on where you are. Putting in a set of
bearings (depending on the burner) shouldn't take more than 30mins for
most common types.
So, service and bearings might rush you up to 150ish, and probably a bit
more for Lunnon.

 

British Gas fine by me, theres prolly cheaper though...
