After last chain lube there was quite a bit of "flick off" some onto rear
brake disc, now rear brake is a little weak, question is will it come back
or will I need to replace rear pads ?

    TIA, D

Soak with trichoroethane and leave face down on kitchen roll, should pull
the worst out. You can always give 'em a good wet and drying on a flat
surface after toreally get the faces fresh.

Some hard braking at speed should rid us of your problem.

Ta, bought some proper sticky chain lube now instead of engine oil... better
late than never i suppose... teach me for being a tight wad.

Just wash some of it off with white spirits. It's only a back brake.

Or buy a can of brake cleaner.

You can get it at Halfords, Les Smith and the like, or you could try a
proper motor factors. Either way it's easily available.

S'pose that's the way to go really, but I just wouldn't bother tbh -
not unless the rear brake had totally fucked off, anyway(1). It will
wear away/burn off with a few good squeezes.

Having said that, now is the time to get in there, get the pads out
and cleaned and give the pistons a good scrubbing with a toothbrush
before reassambling with smears of Copaslip in all the right places.
That way you might come out into Spring with an unseized rear brake.

    1. Since I fitted a newsecondhand rear caliper in Summer, I've been
riding with no back brake whatsoever. Now I *know* what the fast boys
say when they exhort the use of front brake only - stopped me dragging
the rear into corners completely, it has ;-)
