My Kombi is the perfect car for a Motorcyclist, it has a bed and a fridge.

Any motorcycle is better than no motorcycle.

Definitely, besides GS you might want to ride one - they're a
    surprisingly good light weight cruiser.

Surely a bicycle is a better option.

But can the missus keep up when she has to follow you to rallys in it?

I rode one with under 50km on it whilst my bike was in the shop but that
was one of the first loaners I got, so had no real experience to
    reference it against.

That said it looked nice. In retrospect it seemed decent as the GT.[1]

Agreed; bicycles make much better bicycles for motorcyclists than Kias do.

I had one, loved it but hated working on the donk. I had an old mate
though, that I rode with 25-odd years ago who loved Kombis and actually
had a business fixing 'em. And he was good at it.

Trouble is, I've got this picture in my mind of a lowered, sectioned and
chopped Kombi running a mid-mounted supercharged Commodore V6 so I'm
afraid I couldn't be trusted with another one...

I saw one at Warwick once with a V8 hanging half-a-foot out the back so a V6
might just be the perfect fit!!
    Top idea!

Shit, don't encourage me!... (I'm thinking smack dab in the middle
behind the side door. Better weight distribution and all that...)

[shrug] It depends on how serious you wanna' get.
I reckon it'd be a damn fine machine with a standard V6 mated to the VW
gearbox/transaxle.... or you could make a wild-arsed, totally unregisterable
    show car.
    I'd go the former
(but I have a tendency to set low targets).

I saw one once with a 429 Ford engine mounted like that in it once. I can't
begin to imagine what it was like to drive.

And watching it recede into the distance while you sit in a cloud of
    tyre smoke....

Geez and you'd still rather a Kia ? Blimey ! (And yes I saw the
smiley, but c'mon ! Not even in jest !!!)
Well yeah OK, but a California is still classed as a cruiser (and
funnily enough the "all rounder pretending to be a cruiser" is pretty
much the only type of cruiser I like :)

    told.

I'm sure it does. If I was to buy a cruiser it would be either a
Guzzi, a Vmax, maybe a kwaka beefsteak (mean streak), the trumpy
america - something that didn't weigh 400Kg with zero ground
    clearance.

Although if I had the money I'd rather build one to my own specs - I
know exactly what I'd build - I'd use the Trumpy 1050 triple engine,
put some good running gear on it off a sports bike and make it as
short a wheel base and as light as possible within the constraints of
    the styling.
