With full luggage, hand warmers & **** all else, gonna go for one last
scream (with serious back ache) down the bypass tomorrow morning :)

I did have a sit on a fireblade yesterday & it felt a bit less painful,
but I would have to change gear with me knees. Probably a tumour.

As they say....variety is the spice of life, got rid of me ambulance &
    bought a Discovery, why not.

It's a shame the Busa didn't suit you, they are very nice. Very comfortable
    for me.

It suited me in every way i know, just not my back. I am gutted & more
than a bit pigged off. Especially as this bike is so mint it makes me
want to cry. It is also one of the last restricted bikes going. It's
odd, it hurts me left wrist a lot too & I have changed everything that
I can change. Had a go on another ZZR yesterday & it felt like a glove,
even though it was ' smaller' tip to toe & that.

Odd, but, no matter. Life goes on, unless you die under the wheel of a
bus like the poor fucker i saw yeasterday morning. By 8pm last night I
saw 3 dead folk on the road, not fucking good. normally, covering
50-60k a year you see one accident you are glad you didnt acually see
happen, but to see 3 dead in a day - phew.

Well, you can't say you haven't been warned. Find a _good_ mechanic as most
BMW dealerships are pretty grim to say the least. If you're in the SE I can
recommend the guy I use who is *very* good. TOG's taking his LT to him also
and was rather happy with the service, too.

This, I believe, why it's so important to try before you buy. But there
again,, you really need an extended test.
    Gosh that's dreadful.

To be honest, Alan Jeffries are my local dealer & they are very good so
    far.......

Staff are good, know their stuff & actually do what they say.

Does it have to be new? I've never ridden a 1200GS but have read enough
posts on www.ukgser.com where people want to swap a 1200 for an 1150 to put
    me off.
There's a really nice 1150 on there for sale at the mo:

The normal reaction on seeing the aftermath of a crash is to regret
not having been there, with camera, to see it happen.

What, you want to see some bloke get run over by a bus? Or you want to
see passengers in some kind of hatchback get wasted by a transit van on
the M62? Are you on drugs?

Yes, I'm on drugs. ACE inhibitors, statins, proton pump inhibitors, aspirin.
How do you explain the popularity of all the TV programmes showing
    accidents?
I doubt that many people want more crashes to happen but, given that
they have happened, the normal reaction is to regret not having been
    there to see it.
Did you try to watch Richard Hammond's mishap on TV or the interweb?

I can think of lots of responses to me here. "**** off", "Tosser",
"Wanker" etc. etc. but I don't believe that "Fucking idiot" really cuts
    it here. I don't see anything I've posted above that's idiotic. I'm
only suggesting that either what you claimed to have witnessed was
dreadful or bullshit; hardly an idiotic post.

However, if you want it in black and white, I think you're a bullshitter
    and here's why:

I've never seen a single person killed on the road or more specifically
a dead body on the road in 20 years of motoring and yet you saw three in
    one day.

You might have seen accidents that resulted in three deaths, or, more
    likely been in the vicinity of the accidents but "see 3 dead in a day";
    it's bullshit.

You know it, I know it and most of the posters here know it.

However feel free to talk about it and embroider the details around the
periphery of your life to make it seem more interesting than it truly
    is.

If you're talking about Cannon Motorcycles who used to be in and
probably are still in Chelmsford, I'd give them a wide berth. I've had
some "interesting" experience with those guys and am now convinced that
I never should've bought a bike from them in the first place...

Anyway, the guy I'm talking about is Brian Giles/BGM in Pembury near
Tunbridge Wells. Drop me an email and I'll pass on his phone number.
He's a bit out of the way but is usually able to give you a courtesy
    bike.

He's ex-BMW (used to be head spanner monkey for the BMW bike dealership
in TW before it closed down) and he's *extremely* fussy.

When I dropped off my GSA for it's big service he put it on the ramp
and went over it, pointing out problems to me and finished with saying
"when you'll pick it up it'll feel like a new bike". And he wasn't
exaggerating either. He's also a tad cheaper than an official BMW
    dealer...

I don't recommend people unless I'm very happy with their work; with
this guy I'm happy enough to take the K there on Wednesday and pretty
much give him a blank cheque with instructions to service it and sort
out any problems he'll come across.

Of course i did, but he isnt spread all over the road is he, he
survived & thats why I watched it. I don't have any desire to see folk
dying on TV. Don't get me wrong, if no-one gets hurt i can see the
ironic humour in some smashes, like the lorry one further down.
