    Bollocks?

I've said is that in 20 odd years of more than 30k miles a year I've
never seen a single dead body on the roads. Whereas you're claiming to
    see many.

Unless you work in the emergency services or possibly vehicle recovery I
don't see how your experience is likely to be that significantly
    different.

The only logical explanation I can see is that you're bullshitting.

FFS i dont know where some of you live, but I spend my driving time on
the motorways & A roads & do unfortuantly see a lot of crashes &
mayhem. The poor chap run over by the bus was literally underneath it
when i went past, I came back the same way a couple of hours later &
there where coppers everywhere taking pictures & measuring. There was
also a lot of sand etc on the road. I'm sorry, I hope the poor ****
isnt dead, but it's fair to say he was dead as there are flowers on the
wall now. On the M62/M1 junction later that night i went to pick up my
Land Rover from Gainsborough there was a massive smash, must have just
happened as there where no police etc. The car was utterly fucked &
there was a van looking a bit messed up too. We went past on the other
side & 3 or 4 hours later we came back that way & the Police taking
pictures & taking measurments. It was on the local news two passengers
in the car where dead. Now, I didn't see the bodies this time, nor
would I want to, but the poor fuckers are still dead.

I have come across a couple of horrific accidents before including a
truck that had literally run right over a for escort killing both
inside, you couldsn't see anything due to the carnage, but they where
    in there dead.

This kind of thing happens on a daily basis. maybe i just hapopen to be
in the wrong place at the wrong time I dunno.

  10. I'll echo everything Timo says. The man is extraordinary. I thought my
1100LT felt great before I dropped it in, but afterwards there was no
    comparison.

Normally I do (most of) my own maintenance, but there were some large
holes in the LT's history and so I asked him to do everything,
absolutely everything, from one end to the other, and then I'd know
exactly where I was starting from as regards service schedules.

That was why the bill was a few quid short of £600, but I'm sure it
would have been the thick end of a grand from a franchised dealer. Job
included new disc mounting spigots (not that cheap), removing the
swinging arm to replace the gear position indicator switch (ditto), and
even removing the fairing and replaicng it exactly straight (which
    apparently it wasn't).

He's not just BMW-obsessed, he's anal. I bet he has BMW logos on his
    bedsheets.

You're not wrong. Not a bad roll, per capita.

We'll ignore that it's per capita and not per distance driven.
Actually, browsing around, the stats seem relatively similar
    on a per-vehicle or per-capita basis. Interesting.

This seems to deny the concept that "speed kills". The fastest
speed limit I saw in Japan was 80 kph (or about 50 mph).
That was on the controlled access, toll motorway.

Standard speed limit in towns: 30 or 40kph. Standard speed limit
on other roads: between 50 and 60 kph. One does not get around
very quickly at those speeds! Yet they still manage to have
a higher death toll per capita than the UK.

    Hmmm.

    (looks down the list)
**** ME! Canada is worse off than Ireland??
    Heh, that's funny actually.

Actually, I didn't seperate my points'. It does look a tad odd having
    re-read it!!

I meant it wasn't nice to see the bods & then should have moved on to
    my back pain!

    ho-hum.
