The jetstream's been fucked for a while. That left a huge low pressure
sat up by Scotland for weeks, dragging an endless stream of thick cloud
    in from the Atlantic.

It's finally sorting itself out now as you can see on
http://www.sat24.com/eu so most of us should get a few days of respite.

Perfect timing for me as I finally got the Raptor MOT'd yesterday, so I
can make the most of a dry weekend to find out what it's like to ride.

The medium-range forecast for Llanidloes this time next week is looking
    pretty positive.

Which is nice, because I don't mind repeatedly falling off a bike but I
object to doing it in the pissing rain.

York is such a weather window. Just fine here!

I was laughing when R4 gave a Lunnon weather warning yesterday though. I
immediately thought of Oggie's commute home.

Oggie's commute home was absolutely fine. A bit of light drizzle, if
that, and me in head to toe Goretex kit. Only issue was visibility and
that was mostly because I still had a dark visor fitted.

What is this rain you speak of?

    </Fhm>

Will probably rain the length of the N10/A10 all afternoon.

My bike has been safely locked away in the garage in the family home for
the last month. The fact that the ex-wife has the only key and I'm
living elsewhere at the moment means that I don't care too much that the
rain gods are fighting with the sun gods. I can't quite fit all my
worldly goods in the panniers anyway, although this may not be strictly
    true.

After careful consideration of Lord Murrayvorts discussion of
possessions or experience for happiness I realised that I didn't have
any possessions that I really valued.

Wind now risen to howling gale outside. Deep joy.

My commute home was pretty dire. Thursday's are usually the worst
anyway. Compounded by some light flooding causing cagers to swerve,
pitch black clouds making it feel like November, and lots of people
heading to Reading for some unknown reason.

  13. Yeah, I looked at the line up and thought 'can't be bothered'.

****. I need to go into Reading tomorrow and forgot about the
festival. Oh well, I'll just go early before the lazy soap-dodgers get
    up.

SWMBO and the lad went off to Shrewsbury Folk Festival yesterday. SWMBO
is getting in free as a 'Steward', though as a newbie she will probably
be litter picking rather than meeting and greeting the likes of Billy
Bragg. Actually, given her CRB status they will probably get her helping
out in the kids activity tent.

Which leaves the lad to hone his unicycle skills in the workshop and
fill his face with grub from the 'Pieminister' stall.

Reading's always shit, and it's always full of 12 year olds getting
    pisseed for the first time.

    Avoid.
