But where can I buy a good quality set of screwdrivers?

Im tempted to just end up going down to Half frauds and coughing up cash
there, but if someone can point me in the direction of a decent supplier, Id
    be grateful.

Also, Id appreciate a pointer as to who makes the above quality drivers. Im
sick and tired of using drivers that are made out of cheese, even though
theyre marketed as professional. I am actually willing to spend a bit of
cash on these, as I am on most tools.

I bought a socket set for £5.99 the other day from "Supershopper" and it
allows me to round the heads on my bike's nuts like anything.

Well the Snap-On roll cabs have always been a bit much and for no good
reason. Machine Mart's ball bearing drawer range are a nice
alternative. You cannot match Snap-On tools though, never regretted
buying a single item from them and nothing has ever broken.

In particular the 3/8" drive 6-point sockets are the best tools I've
ever bought, the absolute dog's bollocks. If a fastener is even
vaguely removable they will do it and they never inflict damage on the
    heads themselves.

although go 6-17 as 19mm is too large for 3/8 ratchet mechanisms, get
    them for Christmas.

By way of balance, I bought a large Kamasa socket set from Finmere
market over 20 years ago for peanuts. I've done virtually all my own
maintence in those 20 years, & nothing in that set has ever broken.
Even the little locating pins on the ratchets still slide in & out
    smoothly.

Snap-On /may/ make sense for a pro using them every day, but for the
home or hobby mechanic, they're ridiculously over priced.

I've got snap-on 6 point sockets in 10mm and 12mm sizes for this very
    reason.

So you pay a few quid extra, 20 years later when still enjoying using
    and owning, does that matter?

I use some Kamasa sockets. My 1/2 inch set have been with me for about
25 years and I've never broken one yet. I also have Facom, Sykes
Pickavant and older Britool stuff in my tool-chest.
I used to buy a lot of Snap-On when I was using my tools all day every
day. There's nothing to beat the quality, feel and ease of use with
Snap-On, plus the guarantees you get are second to none. Now I look for
quality alternatives when I need something specific. I can't justify the
    extra cost any more.
