We doing this in alphabetical order?...
It's easy. All you need is an agricultural V-twin.
    Ta. Hic!...

I was hoping to set a new record this year en route to the GP, too.
There's a bloke on the BikeMe forum from FarRiders who are associated
with the Iron Butt mob in the U.S.

Nah, I had square tyres. Now I have new tyres. Those original Z6s had done
    18500 kms.

That's good to know. Mine have done 8500 and show bugger all wear, so
should be good for a bit more.

I have Z6's on my BMW R1100RT. Got 27000km from the last front tyre,
and 22000km from the last rear.
Unless a Guzzi is much heavier than my bike (at 285kg), or your
throttle hand is a bit enthusiastic, I don't see why you should not
    get similar mileage.

Gotta wonder what they smoke at Poochera! Picked up a truckie and
pressed on and on, and on!

Daylight saving gets you there twice as fast.

    That's impressive.

Some bods in the US are claiming less than 10,000km from theirs. Too
much interstate work, not enough attention to pressure, different road
    surface, Yanks get lousy tyres?

I don't think you can shred tyres with an overly enthusiastic throttle
hand on a pushrod twin can you?

I think maybe sustained enthusiasm rather than immediate enthusiasm is
what makes the difference to tyre wear.

But that just means you make your 20,000km a little more quickly....

I suspect some of the low mileage reported might be tyre chewing
chipseal roads. I've heard reports of very chunky surfaces made by
spraying tar and laying very big chunks of bluemetal, rathe than the
Aussie method of spraying tar and laying small chunks of bluemetal.

Apparently NZ roads are shocking for this. I remember reading an article at
some pint that talked about tyre companies specifically making trips to NZ
to check out their roads (and in some cases take chunks away with them)
simply because nowhere else do tyres get chewed out so fast.
