The BMW has easily been the best all rounder i have ever owned, but
technically it's not mine any more (company assett etc) so, I aint paying
the kind of money the new owners will want, so it's off :) But before it
goes, i'm stripping my stuff off it for profit :)

I am watching K3 thous & they are now very good value, i have had one before
    (Kirans) & loved it.

I quite like the copper colour too.

Low miles pristine go for around £3k now.

Anyone know of one for sale, please let me know?

Hmmm... I think I might have tried to bargain that the bike became
yours as part of the deal when you sold the company.

Depending on how keen they were to get their hands on the business, it
may have cost less they'd expect for it now.

Or is it on finance / a lease, tied to the company?

What's the score with keeping it as a benefit?

ISTR the 'company car tax' on bikes is virtually sod-all.

    <googles>

It appears that the calculation is:

List price x 20% of the asset value x tax rate = cost per year.

Probably somewhere in the region of £800 / year, I'd have thought, via
an adjustment to your tax code.

Depends how much he uses it IIRC. Bikes are taxed slightly differently
than cars and if I understood my accountant correctly the benefit in
kind is calculated taking some of the running costs into account as
    well.

You must be the only bloke on he planet that does then Nige. Brown and bikes
    just don't go together.

I did it too. It looked good in my mind, but when I'd finished it, I
immediately did it again in a diffeent colour.
