Ok, so I'm not the fastest, but...

Why am I continually being baulked by people on uber fast sportsbikes when
I'm on a fucking Zed thou?

I went for a quiet "on me own" bimble today and it seems that riders
negotiating roundabouts have either lost all their bottle, or I'm faster
than I thought. On the approach to one roundabout, I passed an R1 and a
Gixxer (admittedly on the inside) as they were hard on the brakes and I had
a lovely line around the roundabout. As I reached my turnoff (3rd exit, so a
270 degree turn) I looked back and they were nowhere, but they came roaring
past me a minute or two later as we all approached a second roundabout.

They both pulled into my lane and got back on the brakes *really* trying to
**** up my approach, so I pulled out and I sailed past them (this time on
the right side) as we all got onto the roundabout at the same time. I was on
the throttle and gone, again with no sight of them in the mirrors. That is
until a minute or so later when they tried to get past me again. "**** 'em"
I thought "It won't be so easy this time" and nailed the throttle. At an
indicated 135, the cunts gave up as we were approaching another roundabout.

    I was gutted.

I think I'm going to look at a B-King when it comes out.

  2. Fucking nice one Kev :) Reminds me of when I wasted a couple of guys in
monkey suits on their gixxer thous through some twisties last summer - and
that was on a fekkin SV1000! A great feeling indeed. I know I'm going to
be cannon fodder for the first couple of hundered miles on the R1 - it's
soooo much easier to make a *complete* **** of it when you've got well over
150bhp at the back wheel. At least on the SV, I could give it the beans and
it would never deliver any suprises. The R1 on the other hand...

Now the B-King - Ho yussss! I'll be testing that...

It's approaching spring and mummy hasn't let them out since the August
bank holiday. About once a week I do something similar to a power-ranger
    type when on the KTM.

Just think of the number of riding gods that'll waste you on their
SV1000s. I don't know how you're going to take the shame.

They're trying to get away from the orange-ness of it. Any orange-ier
and the man from Del Monte will be after you.

I've just been talking to the missus about it and she's of the same mind.
They've probably not ridden for ages, whereas I've ridden all through what
bit of winter we've had. Mind you, I came across a few of these
"sportsbikers" last year when I had the missus on the pillion and we still
    managed to out corner them.

Maybe they were scrubbing their tyres in.

Tempered with the thought that "These blokes are shittier than me", then
    yeah:)
I've made a complete **** of myself with just 125, but I still fancy what I
saw this week. A supercharger designed for the Zed with a proomise of 210
back wheel bhp. Probably optomistic, but according to the reviews, it's
definitely reached 200. Still way more than I need, but when did need ever
    enter the equation?

At least on the SV, I could give it the beans and
Have you seen that clip where a guy rides out of a Yam dealership in the US
and never gets out of 1st gear. He highsides it within 5 yards of leaving
    the forecourt. Class.
I don't know if I dare. I'd have to get one if I liked it.

He will if he's on an SV thou. You'd better watch out.

I'm looking forward to the TT when I can be duffed up by top blokes
riding crap bikes. I'll not wear my leathers though because it leaves
    me open for piss taking.

I doubt if that's the reason. If you're naturally fast you'll be fast
all year and if you're slow you might get marginally better with
better conditions because of an increase in confidence.
You should contact Champ and see if he still needs a 3rd rider for
    this years endurance championship.

Now funnily enough, I can usually get closer to the top men's times at a
wet meeting than a dry one. I don't seem to slow down so much when the
track is slippery. I reckon that is because I don't ride hard enough in
the dry. I can tolerate a bit of sliding on a greasy track because I am
expecting it and it is more controllable. If I start to slide on a dry
surface I know I am having a really good day, whereas the hill climb
gods routinely drift the back coming out of slow corners even on a hot
    dry day.

That's why my leathers are all black, apart from my girlie "Red Bull" jacket
I got last year for pennies, but I don't believe anyone will be taking the
    piss out of your riding.

I get rusty very quickly, but I'm an old ****, so I've got an excuse. The
blokes I pass on sportsbikes all seem to be half my age.
Endurance? I can barely endure the walk to the garage and that thing's
attached to the house, let alone endurance racing. Having said that though,
I managed 3 x 800 mile days on the trot without any problems, but I was only
racing against the weather, but I still failed to win

Wondering if you were going to fucking ring to say you were definitley
going, because in a previous thread, you said you weren't sure you'd be back
in this country. You can be a right ****, you can and I hope your neck got
