Now I should be the last person to complain about the cold but I've
just dragged out as many items of thermal kit as I could find.

I need to ride the Tenere to Chester tomorrow and to be there for 11am
I need to be setting off from home at 8am and it's already well below
freezing point. At least it's not forecast to snow (much) so I don't
need to worry about that but there is a chance of freezing fog for a
large part of the trip and I'm not looking forward to it.

Stand by for whinging posts tomorrow evening.

No, _I_ should be the last to complain, living on the beach in SoCal,
but it's friggin freezing here, too. Daytime temps up to 62, nights
in the 40's. My heater stopped working a couple of months ago and I
finally got round to replacing it. The new one is cranking up for the
first time as I write. Ahh, technology.

Sir needs to plug his heated socks into his heated trousers
into his heated jacket into his heated gloves.
    Toasty it is.

Unfortunately I don't have heated socks or trousers but I will be
wearing merino wool long johns under a second pair of thermal long
johns and I'll be trying out my nice new Sealskinz socks to see if
    they keep my feet warm.

I'm a bit wary about using too much heated kit in case it drains the
battery and I'm treating this as a test run for February. I've still
got a one piece fleece suit to use if I get cold tomorrow and that's
always kept me warm when we've done the Elefant.

My lad was down your way last night (Sharnbrook). He got home this
morning just before one and has decided he either needs new gloves or
    handlebar muffs (or both).

Thanks for the offer Steve but apparently there's a kettle waiting to
make me a cuppa and a big heater waiting to keep me warm as soon as I
    get there.

I'm only going to have a new set of panniers 'trial fitted' to the
Tenere before they go away for anodising so a couple of hours and I'll
be winging my way home again.

Watch out for the wonderful combination of ice over leaves.
That one had me nicely sideways in the village tonight.

You've spent too much time with window lickers.

You'll be ok once you've got some heat into your tyres...
    <snigger>

Oh, it appears to have snowed overnight in Bedford. Not much but
enough to make me wonder if this trip is strictly necessary.
