Cricket has allways been a sport for gentlemen not outlaws. Our team may have been naive enough to play by the unwritten rules of the game, and had apparently not realised how competitive your team had become. Win at any cost, or so it seemed. Thankfully sanity has prevailed and *that* matter has been sorted forever. Interestingly it seems the competitive spirit between our two countries keeps us all on our mettle, and is probably one of the reasons that we are at the top of our respective games. Hopefully that will never change.
Don't talk high-moral-ground bullshit! There's heaps of times when Kiwi sporting teams have exploited a dodgy opportunity to gain advantage. (Especially the All-Blacks and that cheating Fitzpatrick prick, pulling fake penalties!) What Chappell did was stupid and gutless (and this was reflected in the reactions of his team-mates and the Aussie public at the time) but perfectly legal so get over it and stop crying! (and it was probably the best thing to ever happen to NZ cricket!) clem
