    Weeeeiill,

They've gone and re sufaced the old road - still a bit of grip but
there's too many rocks for my liking... Be a few months before it's
    good again...

Why don't they use the smooth hotmix instead of this chunky crap?

They did the same to the putty and now my Yoshi's have dings in em
    from rocks flicking up...

Anyone know any other good runs not to far from Parramatta?

    Cheers

  2. Why? They did this not even 12 months ago. There was *nothing* wrong with
it. Practice? RTA (or whoever they are now) have a bad habbit of resurfacing
perfectly serviceable roads, yet others are riddled with potholes and are
left to further deteriorate.... Probably too hard, so they do the easy shit
to make like they're doing *something*...

BTW I'm talking about the Hawkesbury to Mt White section here.....

Stop whinging.. there is very little, if any, loose aggregate on the new
    sections.
Seems they have changed the blue metal and tar they use... seems grippy to
    me.
Probably because they would have to rip the whole bloody road up and start
    again!!

Uhmmmm, unless they resurfaced it again in the past two weeks,
it's fine. I did the 'new' bit of the old road (from Mt
White to the bottom) on the way back from Karuah. As I think
I said at the time, it was one of the better bits of road
I used all weekend. The gravel is chunky, but it isn't loose
    and it works just fine.

The Hobbit's in question this time around are Gosford City
Council IIRC. About a year ago, they did the same thing, and
all the usual power rangers leapt up in arms complaining about
the loose gravel and dinged yoshi's and whatnot. They'd collectively
decided that it was a conspiract against motorcyclists and
someone ought to do something and blah-di-blah.

IIRC, my comment at the time was to the effect of "Never
acribe to malice that which can be adequately attributed
to stupidity". I stand by those words.

One bright spark eventually picked up the phone and called
the council. Turns out the council wasn't any more happy about
it than the power rangers were, but money was tight, and they
did the best job they could with the cash that had been
allocated. Apparently the bit of the council involved
*encourages* complaints from road users 'cos it gives them
ammo to go back and ask for more budget.

In any case, I saw the crap job they did on the road last
year, and I've seen the allegedly crap job they did this
year, and really, this year's job is fine. It's much
    better than the previous effort.

    G, maliciously stupid.
