Anyone remember the famous picture of a '70s racer wheelying right in
front of the photographer, with the belly-pan verticle. It was a
famous rider of that era and the picture came about after his throttle
jammed open, followed shortly by it riding right over the
    photographer.

A colleague reckons it was Steve Parrish riding, but ISTR otherwise,
but my google mojo is weak, so can't find 'owt about it on the
interweb today. Anyone else remember the story.

  2. It was Dennis Ireland and Don Morley took the picture.

  3. You won't. Not online, I shouldn't think. Don Morley is very particular
    about copyright.

I went to a lecture and slide show he gave, and this pic came up. Dennis
wanted a shot of the Shell sticker on his belly pan, as Shell was a
sponsor. Don was lying on the track, with at least one limb in platser.
The throttles stuck, as you say, and the bike bounced over Don.

Dennis was flipped into a concrete post (which he broke with his hip)
    and was appallingly hurt.

And it was a TZ750 IIRC.

Ta. Sounds familiar, but you can't really tell much from the piccie,
except the two lower exhausts imply two more, consistent with the FZ
    layout.
