A programme about biking .. so who here would care to be tested on the
figure of 8 and the slow-speed slalom?

That would be an excellent competition. Against the clock, fastest to
do 5 laps of the figure of 8, slowest through the slalom.

I've still got the Kent County Constabulary 1979 Trader's Trophy for
    it, somewhere.

Well, that'll be a yes then (see other post).

When I was doing my test training I'd turn up early at the "base" which
was very close to a multi-storey car park. One morning the other
trainee was going to be 30 mins late, so we went to the car park and I
had to follow the bloke around without running into him. He walked
very slowly up and down the ramps, and going in and out of the
supports. It was quite easy on the 125, I think I'd breeze it on and
    SV650, but I don't know how I'd do on the 955i.

Does it? Looks fine here. I copy-pasted it into XanaNews, which
doesn't appear to let me directly paste the text in. I'll have a look

Shouldn't be a problem - when they do U-turns on the test they always
take into consideration the turning circle of the bike. I knew one guy
took his test on a 996 - the only place they could find was at a
    junction..

When doing low speed manouvres (say, in a car park) I'd be happy at
leaning the bike over quite a bit on the SV, but I'm nowhere near that
on the Daytona. However, I don't know if leaning the bike would make
any difference to the radius of the described arc. Does anyone else
    know?

    Doing a test on a 996? I don't know whether to be high-n-mighty and
call him a fool or be awed at natural talent. Did he pass?

Yupp. Why are you surprised? There's no reason to think that it would
be any more difficult to ride than a GS500. Quite the opposite, I'd
    have thought.

The steering lock wouldn't help on a slow U turn.

However FWIW I'd happily re-do a test on the ZRX, I reckon a 0 faults is
    do-able even now.
